Birthday Books
Lower School Library
To celebrate your child’s birthday, you may have a book given to the
library in his or her name. Birthday books are presented during your
student’s weekly library visit. All birthday books will have a gift plate
noting the student’s name and birthday. In addition, your child will be
the first to check out the book and will come home with a helium balloon
and special certificate. If your child has a summer birthday, we can
arrange a special date to present the book (perhaps a half-birthday.)
To participate in this program, please print out this form, fill it out, and return it to the
library. The cost of a birthday book is $18. That amount may be charged to your child’s
account or you may send a check, payable to OES, along with the form. Please allow three
weeks for processing.
When indicating your child’s reading interests, the more information you give, the better!
Let us know if he or she prefers fiction or nonfiction, picture books or chapter books,
favorite authors and illustrators. If there is a special book you would like to purchase
yourself to donate, please get in touch with the librarians to make sure we don’t already
have a copy.
