Definition of Bacteria
Bacteria-a single celled or noncellular spherical or
spiral or rod-shaped shaped organism lacking
chlorophylo that reproduce by fission.

Strep Throat- symptoms of strep throat are sudden
sore throat, trouble swallowing, fever over 101
degrees Fahrenheit.
Common Symptoms For Strep Throat
Severe and sudden sore throat without
coughing, sneezing, or other cold symptoms.
Pain or difficulty with lymph nodes
swallowing. Fever over 101F.
Lower fevers may indicate a viral infection
and not strep. Swollen in the neck.
White or yellow spots or coating on the throat
and tonsils.
Bright red throat or dark red spots on the roof
How strep throat is transmitted?
• Strep throat is transmitted threw droplets in the air.
It can be transmitted through close contact,
coughing, sneezing, and rarely it is passed by food.
Types of Treatment for Strep Throat

• Cephalexin
• Amoxicillin
• These antibiotics effect only against bacterial
infections such as strep throat.
How to prevent Strep Throat
• Stay away from sick people.
• Wash hands daily

Scarlet Fever
Some common symptoms for Scarlet Fever are
first a rash appears as tiny red bumps
on the chest and abdomen. This rash
may then spread all over the body, but
usually does not affect the palms and
soles. The rash looks like a sunburn and
feels like a rough piece of sandpaper.
How Scarlet fever is Transmitted
Group A streptococcal infections that cause scarlet fever are
very contagious. Strep bacteria can be passed through contact
with the nasal or throat fluids of someone with a strep throat
infection.
Types Of Treatment for Scarlet Fever
Scarlet Fever can be treated. Your doctor will
prescribe medicines to help the symptoms of Scarlet
Fever. The most common medicines prescribed are:
antibiotics, skin ointment for the rash, and a fever
reducer.
Ways to prevent Scarlet Fever
Get early treatment for strep infections to prevent them
from progressing into scarlet fever, especially Strep Throat.
Practice good general hygiene and cover your mouth when
you sneeze.
Keep chilgren with scarlet fever out of school until they
have received antibiotics for at least 24 hours and shows
clear signs of improvement or upon approval of your health
care provider.
