"Ancient Gods and Their Mysteries: Will They Return in 2012 A.D.?" is a book
that explores signs of gods' divine intervention on earth. The author Robert
Berringer, a retired nuclear engineer with a degree in theology from Harvard,
tells the reader about the three most important footprints of the ancient gods
on earth: the Great Pyramid of Giza, the old temple of Jerusalem, and the
ancient temple mound at Ollantaytamba, Peru.
With the aid of archaeoastronomy, geologists and geneticists have vastly
improved dating techniques. This has led to dramatic new religious and
historical insights. Based on the work of new age scholars, this book delves
into ancient civilization's temples and gods and other signs of a divine
architect.
In his pursuit of unraveling signs of gods' divine intervention, the author
examines some of the mysteries that have long perplexed people. For example, he
discusses the sudden rise of Sumerian civilization along the Tigris-Euphrates
River Valley and the emergence of Egyptian civilization along the Nile River
Valley. Archaeological evidence has found that these civilizations have little
in common with their predecessors. According to Berringer, writings from both
these times recorded evidence that the gods brought civilization and kingship to
man.
Discussing other signs of god on earth, the author gives new explanations on the
mysteries surrounding the symbols, design, and purpose of the pyramids of Giza.
Around 4500 years ago, the colossal stone structures were built on a rocky
desert plateau close to the Nile. What baffles modern historians is how these
massive blocks of limestone, many weighing over 400,000 pounds, were carried to
the site. Few modern cranes can lift 400,000 pounds. The author also mentions
that the Toltecs and the Mayans believed that the "Fifth Age of Man" started in
3114 B.C. and would end in 2012 A.D..
Divine intervention of the gods comes in various forms including periodic visits
to help civilize humans. After such visits, humans begin a new age or era.
Putting forward a strong case for gods' intervention on earth, the author
invites readers to agree with him, saying, "He who has ears to hear, let him
hear."
