CHRONICLE BOOKS SIGNS DISTRIBUTION PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT
WITH Hg2
San Francisco, CA (December 13, 2006): San Francisco-based trade publisher Chronicle
Books, LLC is pleased to announce that they will be launching a new distribution
relationship on January 1, 2007 with The Hedonist’s Guides (Hg2).
Described by Harpers & Queen as “a chic insider’s guide for sophisticated travelers”, the
sleek, black city guides aimed at the more discerning traveler offer a definitive view of
the finest restaurants, the most stylish hotels, the chicest bars, the best shopping, spas and
cultural highlights in each city. The guides are divided into digestible chapters and every
bar, restaurant, hotel, café and nightclub has been individually tried and tested and is
accompanied by a photograph. Hg2 launched in the US last fall through NBN.
The first book published by Hg2 was Prague in October 2004. Since then the range of
titles has grown, and there are currently 15 titles on the bookshelves including Paris,
Rome and Marrakech which will publish in December. Research is already underway on
Buenos Aires and New York, as well as second editions for Spring 07.
Jack Jensen, President and Publisher of Chronicle Books says, “Hg2 approached travel
with a fresh eye and an insider’s perspective, and we are thrilled with the opportunity to
take these great products to the ever growing Chronicle Books customer base.”
Says Hg2 publisher, Tremayne Carew Pole, “I am delighted to be working with a
company of Chronicle Books’ caliber. Their stylish approach to high-end lifestyle
publishing is refreshing and I believe Hg2’s elegantly designed books are a perfect fit for
their catalogue. I look forward to working with them for many years to come.”
