Jesus Warned about Judging
• (Mat 7:1-5 NKJV) "Judge not, that you be not
judged. {2} "For with what judgment you
judge, you will be judged; and with the
measure you use, it will be measured back to
you. {3} "And why do you look at the speck in
your brother's eye, but do not consider the
plank in your own eye?
Jesus Warned about Judging
• (Mat 7:1-5 NKJV) {4} "Or how can you say to
your brother, 'Let me remove the speck from
your eye'; and look, a plank is in your own
eye? {5} "Hypocrite! First remove the plank
from your own eye, and then you will see
clearly to remove the speck from your
brother's eye.
He wasn’t one of us!
• (Mark 9:38-40 NKJV) Now John answered
Him, saying, "Teacher, we saw someone who
does not follow us casting out demons in
Your name, and we forbade him because he
does not follow us." {39} But Jesus said, "Do
not forbid him, for no one who works a
miracle in My name can soon afterward
speak evil of Me. {40} "For he who is not
against us is on our side.
Speak with Grace
• (Col 4:5-6 NKJV) Walk in wisdom toward
those who are outside, redeeming the time.
{6} Let your speech always be with grace,
seasoned with salt, that you may know how
you ought to answer each one.
Judge with righteous judgment.
• (John 7:23-24 NKJV) "If a man receives
circumcision on the Sabbath, so that the Law
of Moses should not be broken, are you
angry with Me because I made a man
completely well on the Sabbath? {24} "Do not
judge according to appearance, but judge
with righteous judgment."
Be Merciful to Others
• (James 2:12-13 NKJV) So speak and so do as
those who will be judged by the law of
liberty. {13} For judgment is without mercy to
the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy
triumphs over judgment.
Judge with righteous judgment.
• John 7:24 "Do not judge according to
appearance, but judge with righteous
judgment."
Keeping Harmony
• (Mat 18:15-16 NKJV) "Moreover if your
brother sins against you, go and tell him his
fault between you and him alone. If he hears
you, you have gained your brother. {16} "But
if he will not hear, take with you one or two
more, that 'by the mouth of two or three
witnesses every word may be established.'
Help Those who are Overtaken
• (Gal 6:1 NKJV) Brethren, if a man is
overtaken in any trespass, you who are
spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of
gentleness, considering yourself lest you also
be tempted.
Judge nothing before the time!
• (1 Cor 4:4-5 NKJV) For I know nothing
against myself, yet I am not justified by this;
but He who judges me is the Lord. {5}
Therefore judge nothing before the time,
until the Lord comes, who will both bring to
light the hidden things of darkness and
reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each
one's praise will come from God.
Judging Ourselves is Important
• (1 Cor 11:28-31 NKJV) But let a man examine
himself, and so let him eat of the bread and
drink of the cup. {29} For he who eats and
drinks in an unworthy manner eats and
drinks judgment to himself, not discerning
the Lord's body. {30} For this reason many
are weak and sick among you, and many
sleep. {31} For if we would judge ourselves,
we would not be judged.
A Word of Warning
• (1 Cor 10:12 NKJV) Therefore let him who
thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.
