UW-Stout Announces An Opportunity to Add a
Special Education Cross-Categorical Certification
Special education is individually designed to meet the unique
needs of students with disabilities. Special education, however,
is only a part of the whole; its success depends, in part, on the
quality, philosophy and diversity of the total educational program
for meeting the needs of all students. Today, special education
cannot be viewed in isolation from general education.
Teachers certified and licensed in cross-categorical special
education, allow students with different areas of disability to be
combined for delivery of services.
