Aims and Objectives of the course:
Urology course includes the congenital or acquired diseases of the genitoürinary tract by men
and urinary tract by women of any age.The scope of the pathologies are mainly prostatic
surgery,kidney and urinary tract oncologic and stone surgery,urinary bladder and voiding
pathologies and male reproductive surgery.The trainees are expected to achieve the
knowledge of embryologic,anatomic and physiologic basis of the diseases,to be able to
diagnose urological pathologies in the field and properly transfer the patients to an urology
clinic.Outlines of surgical treatments,indications and future therapies are given as general
knowledge.
Course Contents: 1-History taking and physical examination in urology
2-Radiological evaluation in urology
3-Nonspesific infections of the genitourinary tract
4-Stone diseases in the urinary tract.
5-Congenital anomallies of the genitourinary tractus
6-Urinary obstructions
7-BPH
8-Trauma of the genitourinary tractus
9-Infections of the genitourinary tractus
10-Evaluation of the infertile patient
11-Kidney malignancies
12-Urinary bladder malignancies
13-Testis malignancies
14-Scrotal mass
15-Neurogenic urinary bladder
16-Sexually transmitted diseases
17-Erectile dysfunction
18-Vesicoüretheral reflux
19-Renovascular hypertension
20-Prostate cancer
Asessment Methods:
One written exam is scheduled at the end of the 3 weeks and students should achieve
minimum 60 points from the overall exam.
