President’s Message
For the past 37 years Windsor South Little League has been
offering a program that promotes ideals of sportsmanship,
teamwork and the feeling of family. This is Little League. From
the first swing off a tee to the last out in a big league game,
children grow into adults by lessons learned playing little league.
I would like to welcome you to the 2005 season. I hope that
together we can provide a safe and fun environment for your
children to enjoy.
Thank you,
Barb Ward
President,
Windsor South Little League
Safety Rules
All male players must wear an athletic support with protective cup at
all practices and games.
Players must remain on their team bench when not on the playing field.
Only players and coaches are allowed on the bench and field.
Equipment is to remain intact in its designated area.
There is to be no on-deck circle in the T-Ball through Major Divisions.
T-Ball pitchers must wear a helmet with facemask.
Catchers must wear full catcher’s gear including helmet, facemask,
throat protector, shin guards, and chest protector.
Players acting as a base coach must wear a helmet.
The scorekeeper should sit behind the backstop for safety reasons.
Players shall not wear shorts unless they are part of an approved team
uniform.
Conflict Resolution
As long as our volunteer managers and coaches adhere to the rules and
regulations governing our league, they will have the WSLL Board’s
100% support.
Constructive criticism is welcomed by the managers and coaches but
should be discussed in private and with the understanding that they are
doing their best to help your child have fun, develop skills, and exhibit
good sportsmanship.
Should a problem not be resolved at this level, the Division Director
may be contacted.
If a conflict cannot be resolved through discussion with the team
Manager or Division Director, a written submission may be made to the
Board through the Player Agent or League President.
The Board will respond in writing within 14 days of its next monthly
meeting.

Regarding Umpires
Many of our umpires are merely children.
Our League could not operate without them.
Harassment, abusive language, or inappropriate behaviour by
anyone will not be tolerated.
Managers and Coaches shall not attempt to instruct umpires on the
rules or how they do their job.
Managers may have brief discussions with umpires, in conversational
tone, regarding rule interpretations.
Permission is required to approach an umpire.
Constructive criticism may be directed to the Umpire in Chief.
Responsibilities of Parents
Please,
get your children to the park on time.
show an interest by being present for all games.
dress your children in layers during the cold weather.
notify the Manager or Coach should your child be unable to attend a
game or practice.
assume games and practices will proceed as scheduled unless contacted
by a Manager or Coach.
supervise or arrange for supervision of your children on Tag Day.
make arrangements for your children before, after, and during practices
and games should you not be present – managers and coaches are
instructed not to transport players to or from the diamond and not to
take children to the bathroom.
park vehicles in lots away from the field of play and, when playing at
Glenwood School, refrain from parking in the west parking lot due to
the daycare facility.
Managers
Please clean and return all equipment to the Equipment Manager at the
conclusion of the house league season.
Complete rating sheets for each player and forward them to the Player
Agent at or before the Coaches’ Appreciation Night.
General
Please support the sponsors listed on the back of this book and take the
opportunity to thank them for their patronage, which greatly defrays the
cost of operating our League.
Suggested changes to the operation of WSLL for the following season
must be submitted in writing to the League Secretary by August 31 st.
Practice Diamonds
Each manager has been offered a weekly time slot.
When scheduling a practice, take the time to confirm the diamond’s
availability to avoid conflicts.
In the absence of a reservation, rights to a Windsor South diamond will
be determined on a first come first serve basis.
Please use practice diamonds for make up games and remember to
notify the Umpire in Chief for umpires. Make up games take
precedence at all diamonds.
