Information for Parents and Students

Lessons

Pullout Program

Students come out of other classes for lessons. Every effort is made so

that students are not pulled out of Math. Students ROTATE which

classes they are pulled from!

Two 20-minute group lessons per week



Lessons are scheduled in a two week rotation, Blue Week and White

Week. These schedules can be found posted in the halls, and your

student will bring home a slip of paper indicating their lesson days and

times. It is also posted on my door in the cafetorium.

THEY WILL NEED THEIR

INSTRUMENTS EITHER TUESDAY,

THURSDAY OR FRIDAY!

Performances

Two Main Concerts

 Winter Concert THURSDAY Dec. 9th 7pm with

Drama Club

 Spring Concert THURSDAY MAY 26 7pm with

Drama

It is my expectation that each student musician is

expected to attend all performances for the Winter

and Spring concerts, except under circumstances

of emergency, illness or death in the family.

Other Performance Opportunities

 Side by Side Concert with Arbutus Middle School

on March 31st with other local Elementary

Schools. We will have ONE after school

rehearsals either March 23rd for BAND and March

25th for ORCHESTRA from 4 to 5:00 at AMS. A

carpool is usually arranged!

 Various performance opportunities at school-

wide functions throughout the year.

HOME PRACTICE = SUCCESS

Home Practice Expectations:

 Average of 10 Minutes of practice at home per

night, 7 days per week. PIANO, GUITAR, &

OTHER MUSIC LESSONS COUNT!!!

 Home practice must be recorded on monthly

practice charts which are graded each month.
