Pre-Enrollment Medical and Psychological Evaluations
Cadet applicants must pass both the L-2 Declaration of Medial Condition and
L-3 Declaration of Psychological and Emotional Health in order to enroll in the
academy.
An L-2 is a basic physical examination. This exam states that you are free from any
defect that may adversely affect the performance of duty. A drug screen also
must be done along with this physical. These exams must be administered by a
licensed physician qualified to administer these exams.
An L-3 is a psychological and emotional health examination. A licensed
psychologist or psychiatrist must do the exam. This should be a basic evaluation
and may be called a personality inventory. This exam must be administered by a
licensed psychologist or psychiatrist qualified to administer this exam.

NOTE: Detailed results of both the medical and psychological exams will not be
released to this academy. You must take both the TCLEOSE L-2 and L-3 forms with
you to your appointments and both forms must be signed by the administering
doctor and returned with the completed application. Payment for the medical
and psychological exams will be made by the applicant, directory to the provider
on the day of the examination.
