Don’t be scared to power up. Olympic power lifters burn as many calories in training as an
Olympic marathoner. Explosive fast-twitch muscle motions burn a lot of energy and use a
lot of carbohydrates from your body. The following are great fast-twitch exercises that will
make you work just as hard as that treadmill might:
1. Power clean
2. Lunge jump
3. Push press
4. Jump squat
So if you have one of those days where you get on the treadmill and minutes seem hours,
switch it up and try these for a change. Remember fast explosive movement will be the
key for calorie burning. Also, make sure as you’re doing these exercises you’re
implementing correct technique in order to stay free from injuries! Have a certified
trainer looking over you for your own safety.
