ASSESSMENT TYPE 4: INVESTIGATION
EXTERNAL ASSESSMENT
Investigation
Purpose
This task enables you to undertake a practical investigation or issues
investigation based on a product, task, or service related to your experiences of
work and workplace contexts.
Description of assessment
Students undertake an investigation of a local, national, and/or global issue,
culture, or environment relating to their experiences of work and workplace
contexts, and/or one or more of the Industry and Work Knowledge topics studied.
Students gather data and evidence from the industry workplace and the wider
community to support their issues investigation, and collate, present, analyse,
and evaluate the data.
OR
Students are to complete a report on a practical investigation in which you
document the process of planning, making, delivering, and evaluating. Before
starting their practical investigation, students are required to negotiate the form
and the conditions under which it is to be undertaken with their teacher.
The investigation may be presented in a range of forms, including written, oral,
and/or multimodal. It can include documentation such as working drawings, site
photographs, sketches, charts, designs, operational procedures, processes, and
brochures.
Assessment conditions
The report can be presented in a written (maximum 1000 words), oral (maximum
12 minutes) or a multimodal form (equivalent length). Include a bibliography of
sources used.
This task will be assessed externally.
