Description Day

"Spooky old houses, decayed factories, forgotten hospitals and lost locales. We see them out of the

corners of our eyes during the commute to work, the morning jog, the trip to visit relatives and

more. If your curiosity & interest peaks when you see them; if wonder how others had lived,

worked, fought, healed or died in an area - you aren't crazy. You share a fascination with abandoned

places. There are entire communities of like minded people who explore, photograph, create art

from or document the beauty and character of everything abandoned. Many fetish photographers

have happily use abandoned buildings for shoots.

Wait a sec though, wandering into an abandoned site isn't easy, safe or sane you say? Without a

little thought before hand, abandoned site exploration can be dangerous. Nails, chemicals, wildlife,

structural collapse, and other people all present dangers in entering any site. The trick is in

preparation, respect for the dangers and not being aware of what your getting into. Photographers

JJ MacCrimmon and Photognome will take you on a discussion of abandoned site exploration,

photography and more. Subjects to include: recon, safety, tresspass vs permission and much more."

Saturday

Make your costume look like its not a costume. You've got your top hat, you've got your

goggles...now learn what it takes to put your steamy goodness over the top! How to build your

costuming around the concept of a viable persona. Friday

This class is for the amateur photographer who wants to start working with models. Learn how to

improve the initial experience when working with models, where to find photography groups, proper

ways to conduct yourself around the models & making sure the proper paperwork is in place. Friday

Do you like doing your nails? Do you sometimes look down at your lacquered/stickered/blinged out

fingertips and wonder "Does this look cool, tacky, or both?", and then decide that it doesn't matter

because *you* like it! And that's all that counts, dammit! Do you push the boundaries of your

corporate dress code with glitter and rhinestones? Have you toyed with the idea of getting really

long acrylic extensions just so you will have more real estate to work with? Do you sometimes mix

different nail colors together, add your own glitter, or even glue random objects to your nails just to

see what it will look like?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you should come join us kindred spirits for our nail art

party. If you aren't a lacquer head yet, but you are curious about this strange, new, brightly colored

and smelly world, then you are welcome to come learn, play, and experiment with us. We will

provide several inexpensive nail colors and basic supplies. If you have a nail polish or embellishment

you wish to work with, please bring it with you. If you have supplies you are willing to share, that's

even better. We are going to concentrate on simple nail art on the cheap, using supplies that are

readily available at any beauty supply or craft store.

And if you happen to have a bottle of unicorn pee, then please bring it so I can see it in person! (If

you understand that statement, then you are definitely a lacquer head.)

Friday

What makes a scene great? You can ask that question both of BDSM play and also when writing a

scene or a story. Are some of the answers to that question the same, though, for both players and

writers? These writers will explore what's in their virtual toy bags (as well as their real ones when

relevant) that makes things so damn hot. How much do you rely on past experience, how much on

intuition? Does any plan survive contact with the real world? How much is planning, how much is

improvisation? What was the hottest scene you ever did that never made it onto the page? What

was the hottest scene you ever wrote on the page that you could never recreate in real life?

Saturday

"Writing is rewriting. A writer must learn to deepen characters, trim writing, intensify scenes. To fall

in love with the first draft to the point where one cannot change it is to greatly enhance the

prospects of never publishing."--Richard North Patterson

What if everything just sucks? A secret: The first draft always sucks. Okay, it’s not really a secret, but

it is true. In this class, we’ll figure out how to take that sucky first draft, slip the revision corset on,

tighten everything up and come out with a gorgeous, well-shaped, polished draft. Things we’ll cover:

Re-envisioning your manuscript, structural issues, mechanics, stylistic concerns, leaving your favorite

scenes on the cutting room floor (also known as: kill your babies - not for the weak of heart!). Please

bring 3-5 pages of your draft (double spaced) to work on. Saturday

minds (subconsciously scaring, upsetting or concerning them) and where folks love to go. Starting

Recovery in the Lifestyle is a fellowship of BDSM lifestyle people who are in recovery, or would like

There's much more in common between steampunk and BDSM play than just the corsets. Some

would say you can't have neo-Victorianism without someone getting birched on the bum. There are

issues of protocol and decorum, and extremes of power from master to servant, and from one social

class to another. Let's explore the common ground between steampunk and the BDSM/leather

scene and how to incorporate one with the other. teampunk has been described as the love child of

Hot Topic and a BBC costume drama. There's no denying that the Victorian age was rife with kinky

activity and set the archetypes for many of the power games played in bedrooms today. Our

panelists explore the connection between steampunk and kink. How has steampunk influenced your

play? How has the modern conception of BDSM influenced the steampunk genre and the

refashioning of Victorian morality into something fresh? Amusingly enough, Steampunk often

depicts a more egalitarian world than Victorian England was by a long shot, and yet we incorporate

the fantasy of that era into power exchange so easily. Why? If you want to get started incorporating

steampunk in your BDSM, where do you start? Friday

The story so far… Angels, and Demons, and a Kick Ass Car.

Fandom discussion of the hit TV show, Supernatural. What we love, what we hate, and what we

want more of.

Include Lazarus Reflex in the subject line.

Saturday

Instead of just asking "what's the next hot thing?" this panel looks at what trends and fads are in

genre-land. Vampires were huge (and still are) but they're not the hot thing anymore. Werewolves

are pretty hot, too, but is the werewolf just the new vampire? Steampunk continues to grow--what

made it catch on when it did? It took steampunk almost 20 years to become the "next big thing"

after KW Jeter coined the term, but there's no denying it's huge now. If steampunk represents a kind

of retro-optimism in tech and society, is the current rise in dystopian fiction (The Hunger Games) the

backlash against it? Is every new trend a reaction to a previous one, or can spontaneous coolness

erupt? Paranormal romance as a whole has exploded, especially menage and kink in romance. Will it

last, or is it just a passing fancy? What do you see coming next and why? Friday

Learn how to use and interpret the subtleties of Victorian flirting. Everything from eye contact, fans,

dinner table etiquette and social graces. Friday

What makes a fight scene exciting? What makes a sex scene hot? How do you know when it’s too

long? Or too short? Action scenes aren’t always easy to write, but there are certain tips and tricks we

can incorporate to make them more realistic, more vivid. In this class, we’ll learn about some of the

things that make for great action and we’ll play with different ideas to bring out the excitement in

them. We’ll explore some mechanics of writing, including how to stay in your character’s point of

view during the action, but we’ll also figure out how much detail is too much or not enough and how

to keep the scenes tight and on target. Come prepared to do a little bit of writing, a little bit of

roleplaying and have a lot of fun!

Friday

Anyone who thinks books for "young adults" are tame and boring, doesn't know anything about the

genre. As a well-respected YA editor expressed it, the ONLY reason teens read books is to get

exposed to all the scary adult stuff they are either already facing or about to have to face in life,

including the realities of things like sex, drugs, incest, and other things their parents wish they could

insulate them from. YA books often include frank and thoughtful (if non-graphic) representations of

not only gay characters but also bisexuality (Love You Two), functional polyamory Saturday

We'll be talking about manly love, between real manly men, who do manly things together. In the

butt. Though Yaoi is not just about sex, it's as much about the relationship between the characters as

it is about the smut. We'll also explore the differences between Yaoi and Yuri relationships, take a

look at some horrible fan fiction, and if time permits - some clips.
