Summer League 2005
Following the success of previous summer leagues and requests made it has been decided to run it again, but this
year the evening will be Tuesday. Please pass on the information to those you think would be interested in
participating. The venue is the Halton Regional Table Tennis Centre, at the Halton Stadium, Lower House Lane
Widnes, which can accommodate 8 tables at grade 2 (15 for practice), has a gransprung floor and specialist
lighting. Dates
Week l June 14th; Week 2 June 28th; Week 3 July 12th; Week4 July 26th; Week5 August 9th;
Week 6 August 23rd; Week 7 September 6th.
A chance to keep fit during the summer.
Regulations
1. The competition will consist of teams of 2 players per match (a maximum of 12 players can be
registered for a team)
2. Matches will take place on Tuesday evening at 7 .30pm on alternate weeks; starting on Tuesday 14th
June 2005,
3. No fixture may be postponed i.e., a reserve has to play. A team can be totally independent of any
organization and can select its own name.
4. Divisions, if necessary, will be selected on players England ranking.
5. Matches will consist of four singles and one doubles. The order of play is A v Z, B v Y, Doubles, A v Y, B v Z
6. Teams can decide which of their players are A and B; Y and Z,
7. Each match will consist of best of 5 games, eleven up.
8. The match shall end when all 5 matches have been played
9. Service: the server shall change after each 2 points have been scored. The game shall be won by the
first player or pair to reach 11 point, unless each player or pair have scored 10 points, when the server
shall alternate each point. The game shall then be won by the player or pair first scoring 2 clear point i.e.

10. Rackets -red one side, black the other side as ITTF regulations. Glue may only be used in the glue room
at the bottom end of the hall
11. No food and drink are allowed in the hall with the exception of sports bottles.
12. To play in the league all players must be members of the Centre. If a reserve is not a member they can
join on the night before playing (penalty is loss of games) Cost to join is £10 for Over 17; £5 for
concessions. This lasts for 12 months from the time of joining. Cost per session is £ 2.50 starting at
7.30pm, reserves charged if they practice on free tables.
Entry fee per team is £ 12 as previously. Hope you will spread the word and enter yourself.
