Introduction, overview of project, grabs audience attention
Relevant, does not digress, does not skip around or leave out important material.
Arm and body movement, facial expressions supportive of information, not distracting.
Clear and resonant, does not use filler words and jargon, varies pitch and volume to keep attention and
interest
Closing is a natural summary of the entire presentation. No unnatural, abrupt ending with loose ends.
Content Evaluation Criteria
Content is appropriate for audience. Student explains non-standard or specialty components but not items
that should be general knowledge of audience.
The evaluator’s perception of what the student knows about their project.
Did the student disseminate the information they know about their project to those in attendance.
The information presented was complete without obvious gaps. (i.e. the student could take the information
presented and complete the project)
Evaluation Criteria
Professional in appearance, no misspellings, clear and concise.
Slides help disseminate information and are related to the subject being presented at the time. Slide should
not distract the audience’s attention from the speaker, but help the audience understand what is being
presented.
Slide should be clear, easily viewed, uncluttered and readable at a glance.
