Who can qualify? (1)

The state has programs for SOME students who









 Were in foster care  Are blind

 Were adopted  Are deaf

 Were valedictorians  Were early high school

graduates

Who can qualify? (2)

The state also has programs for Children of





 Disabled/deceased peace officers, etc.

 Deceased public servants

 Deceased veterans

 POW’s or MIA’s

 Parents receiving TANF for the student when

he/she was a high school senior

Program values (1)



•Foster care – free tuition & fees for life

•Adopted – free tuition and fees for life

•Valedictorian – 2 semesters free tuition

•Blind – free tuition & fees for life

•Deaf – free tuition & fees for life

•Early High School graduates – varies according to time taken

to graduate

Program values (2)



Children of

•Disabled or deceased peace officers – 4 years or 120

semester credit hours of free tuition & fees

•Deceased veterans – 150 hours free tuition; reduced fees

•MIA/POW – tuition and fees up to age 21 or 25 (if still

dependent)

•TANF – 1 year free tuition & fees

•Deceased public servants – 200 hours free tuition & fees +

5 stipend for living and textbooks (also applies to spouse)

Applying for an exemption (1)



•Contact the college financial aid officer at college for instructions

-Foster Care -Blind

-Valedictorians -Children of deceased veterans

-Children of POW/MIA’s -Children of parents receiving
