CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION TO BANKRUPTCY
A. Consensual and Judicial Liens
1. Introduction
a) Bankruptcy is federal law.
b) Bankruptcy reform Act of 1978 is codified in Title 11 of the United States
Code, this is the bankruptcy code. It amended the Bankruptcy Act of 1898
which is the Bankruptcy Act.

Title 23 (Bankruptcy court and jurisdictions)
(ii) Supreme Court also has issued rulings which authorize the Bankruptcy
Code.
