Description of Activities Assignment:
1. Each member of the class will identify and/or design a minimum of twelve activities, games
or project ideas that address or incorporate concepts relating to algebra and/or problem
solving, with the intent that these activities, games or ideas will be used to supplement the
class member’s existing mathematics program. (Standards-based lessons from sources such
as the internet are acceptable. Navigations Series lessons may also be included.) Adapt or
develop lesson plans for six of the twelve activities, games or project ideas. The twelve
activities, games or project ideas will ultimately be addressed in a short paper that describes
where and how they will be implemented into the existing program. If you obtained these
ideas from a book, the internet, or teacher resource, photocopy the original piece, develop a
bibliography indicating the source(s), using APA format, and include them with your paper
detailing their use in your program. (Photocopies are not needed for the Navigations Series
lessons.) This assignment is due the last day of class, June 26th.
