1: GENERAL RULES
1.1
The Women‟s Soccer College Association of Ireland (WSCAI) shall consist of teams accepted by Executive Committee, subject to the
rules of the Women‟s Football Association of Ireland. All third level colleges in Ireland (thirty-two counties) shall be eligible for
membership of the Association.
1.2
Any team in membership of the League has the right to appeal against any decision of the Executive Committee to the Appeals
Committee of the Women‟s Soccer Colleges Association of Ireland and also to the Women‟s Football Association of Ireland, in
accordance with their rules.
2: ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
2.1
The Annual General Meeting of all teams in membership of the League shall be held in September / October each year. Two
nominated representatives of any team shall have the power to vote at the meeting. Three weeks provisional notice of the A.G.M. shall
be issued to all teams in membership of the League. Attendance at the AGM is compulsory by a minimum of one representative from
each college intending to enter a team, failure to comply shall result in a fine of €100.
2.2
The business of the A.G.M. shall be:
a) To receive and consider the annual report of each member of the Executive Committee and if thought fit to adopt
same
b) To elect a Chairperson, General Secretary, Treasurer, Competitions Secretary, Registration Secretary, Premier
Division Secretary, First Division Secretary, Leinster Regional Secretary, Ulster Regional Secretary,
Munster/Connacht Regional Secretary, Public Relations Officer (the Executive Committee) and Third Level
Liaison Officer.
c) To elect five members to an Appeals committee
d) To elect the Manager of the Irish Combined Colleges Soccer team
e) To elect the managers of the Interprovincial teams
f) To transact any other business
2.3
Nominations and proposals to be considered at the A.G.M. must be forwarded to the Secretary two weeks prior to the date of the Annual
General Meeting.
2.4
The agenda for the A.G.M. and all nominations and proposals shall be issued to all teams in membership of the League not less than seven
days prior to the date of the A.G.M.
2.5
The Executive Committee shall convene an Extraordinary General meeting within two weeks of receiving a request for such a meeting
signed by the representatives of at least half the teams in membership of the League.
2.6
The rules of the association cannot be altered except at the Annual General Meeting or Extraordinary General Meeting.
3: EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
3.1
The Executive Committee shall consist of the following;
Chairperson
General Secretary
Treasurer
Competitions Secretary
Registration Secretary
Premier Division Secretary
First Division Secretary
Central Regional Secretary
North/West Regional Secretary
South Regional Secretary
Public Relations Officer
The Chairperson shall have a casting vote in the event of a tie on any issue within the Executive Committee. Decision making will be the
responsibility of the Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer of the Executive Committee as well as any other WSCAI Executive
Committee Secretaries which are directly involved in the issue.
3.2
Meetings of the Executive Committee shall be held at least once every three months during the football season or as otherwise convened.
The Executive shall deal with:
a) Minutes of the previous Executive Committee meetings
b) Financial Report
c) Women‟s Football Association of Ireland business
d) Any Other Business
3.3
The Executive Committee shall have the power to co-opt, to fill casual vacancies, which occur on the Executive Committee.
3.4
The Executive Committee shall deal with fixtures, results and other matters e.g. walkovers, postponements and change in venue etc.
3.5
The Executive Committee may appoint a special committee to investigate or deal with any specific matter
3.6
Control of the League shall rest with the Executive Committee who shall have the power to decide on all matters including those not
provided for in the Constitution.
3.7
The Executive Committee shall be for all intents and purposes the legal owners of cups, money and property of the League.
3.8
a) The Colleges holding the perpetual Cups and Shields presented to them by the WSCAI will be responsible for the cost of replacement or
correction should they be lost or damaged while held by them.
b) All holders of perpetual cups and shields shall have a responsibility to return the trophies to a member of the executive committee not later
than two (2) weeks in advance of;
(i) The Intervarsity presentation dinner, in the case of the Intervarsity trophies and the annual
league trophies.
(ii) The current year‟s competition final in the case of all other events.
Exceptions to these deadlines will only be entertained if written alternative arrangements from the club in question have been received and
approved by the executive committee. Breeches of this rule will incur a fine not to exceed €200.
4: FINANCE
4.1
The Treasurer shall receive all moneys due to the League and discharge liabilities of the League under the direction of the Executive
Committee.
4.2
All cheques shall be signed by at least two of the following, Chairperson, Treasurer and General Secretary.
4.3
Books shall be kept by the Treasurer in which receipts and disbursements shall be entered.
4.4
The Treasurer shall submit the accounts of the League at the end of each financial year for review by a qualified person nominated by the
Executive Committee.
4.5
The financial year of the League shall end on the 31st of August each year.
5: APPEALS
5.1
A quorum of three shall apply to the Appeals Committee. This committee shall be chaired by a member of the Appeals committee. Minutes
shall be kept by the Appeals committee of any appeal meetings. The Appeals committee shall have the right to co-opt members of the
association to form a quorum for a meeting.
5.2
The Appeals Committee shall have the power to hear all appeals against decisions of the Executive Committee.
5.3
This right of appeal shall not arise in the case of an issue arising during the Intervarsities, where time is of the essence, when the decision of
the Executive Committees decision shall be final. No right of appeal to the W.F.A.I. shall exist in these situations either.
5.4
At the hearing of an appeal of any kind, members of team(s) concerned who are members of the Appeals Committee cannot be present.
5.5
Appeals must be sent to the Secretary of the League by registered post bearing a postmark within three days (excluding Saturday, Sunday or
Bank holidays) of the club receiving notice of the matter being appealed against. It must be accompanied by an appeal fee of €100 which will
be refunded if the appeal is successful. Where the appeal involves another team, that other team must also receive a copy of the appeal by
registered letter.
5.6
The appeal must be heard by the Appeals Committee within two weeks of receiving same. The appellant and the team Secretary (or any two
members of a team if the appeal concerns disciplinary action against a team) can be present at a hearing of an appeal but must leave while a
decision is being made.
5.7
The appeal committee have the power to deem an appeal as frivolous and in such instances the expenses of the Appeal committee shall be
paid by the Appellant up to a maximum of €100.
6: COUNCIL MEMBERS
6.1
A representative of any team affiliated to the League may be nominated as a Women‟s Football Association of Ireland representative for the
League.
6.2
There shall be one representative on the W.F.A.I. council for every ten clubs in membership of the League. Any Council member who is
absent for two consecutive meetings of the W.F.A.I. Council may be replaced by the Executive Committee.
7: REGISTRATION AND RULES OF THE LEAGUE
7.1
a) The competition shall be known as The WSCAI League.
b) Teams wishing to enter a league team shall submit their intention to enter the legue in writing to the Secretary no later than the AGM.
7.2
a) Only those players who are “full-time day” registered students of their respective Colleges are eligible to participate in WSCAI
competitions (WSCAI Leagues, Freshers, Futsal Intervarsities, Challenge Cup, WSCAI Intervarsities, WSCAI Interprovincials and Irish
Combined Colleges). Those students, who graduate from their respective colleges at a date after the WSCAI AGM, shall only be deemed
eligible for the remainder of that season, as long as they hold a valid “full time” ID card for that academic year. In the case of repeat students
only those students that are fully registered and attending daytime classes in their repeat subjects may be eligible to play.
b) All players must be registered with the League using the online W.F.A.I. registration form and a WSCAI registration form, which must be
signed and stamped by a College Registrar or equivalent College representative. A member of the Executive Committee shall officially date
each registration form upon receipt of same. All players must be fully registered before the date of their league‟s first fixture of the present
season. A fine of €15 per match per unregistered player and a points deduction of relevant will apply to the playing of each unregistered
player. After this date any subsequent players can be registered, but must be registered prior to the relevant match.
c) A student can play with her parent college if their own college is not affiliated to the WSCAI, otherwise they must play with their own
college. A student, having previously registered to play for her parent college for a minimum of two years, can decide to remain with her
parent college for the duration of her studies should her own college become affiliated to the WSCAI.
7.3
The Secretary shall keep a full record of all players registered and team secretaries or official / representatives may examine these records.
7.4
If at any stage of the season the executive committee are made aware in writing that a team has fielded a player who fails the requirements
outlined in rule 7.2(a), (b), or (c), then the executive committee shall take the appropriate action including as a minimum the following:
- Automatic deduction of all points gained in games played with this player
- A fine not to exceed €300.
7.5
Every team shall register its colours. In the event of two teams in a fixture having the same colours, the home team shall change colours.
Goalkeepers shall wear colours, which will distinguish them from other players. In th event of a final, teams shall wear their first strip unless
both teams colours clash then a toss of a coin shall decide the issue.
7.6
Each team in membership of the League shall forward to the Secretary before the 31st October each year the name and address and phone
number of the team's Secretary. Teams changing their secretary or address during the season must notify the Secretary of the League and all
teams in the League without delay.
7.7
The annual subscription shall be decided annually by the Executive Committee. All fees must be paid before the A.G.M. each year. Any
team failing to pay fees and/or subscriptions by that date shall, after receiving notice giving the team seven days to pay, forfeit their right to
enter the League. An affiliation fee shall be paid annually to the Women‟s Football Association of Ireland. The subscription shall be €300
per college in the National Leagues (i.e. Premier and First division) €225 per college for the Regional Leagues and €75 per college for non
league teams. Participating permitted in only the Freshers, Futsal and Challenge Cup. There shall be a €7.50 registration fee per player. A
College entering a „B‟ team need not pay an affiliation fee for that team. A player‟s subscription must be paid before she can play in any
WSCAI event.
7.8
The division of the Regional groups shall be reviewed and agreed by the executive committee on an annual basis.
Each group shall, as much as possible be divided, into an equal number of teams. A club, in writing, may request the executive to review
their group allocation within 2 days of the Regional Groups being circulated to colleges. The decision of the executive is final.
8: SUBSTITUTES
8.1
A team may at its discretion use 5 substitutes from a panel of 7 substitutes during any 11 a-side WSCAI match a match except to replace
players who have been suspended from playing by the referee. Substitutions can only be made with the referee‟s permission. Substitutes
should enter the pitch at the half way line only.
9: MATCH PITCH AND EQUIPMENT
9.1
Every team shall have one set of uniform corresponding jerseys.
9.2
All games must be played on or before the days and times appointed. A fixture must go ahead on the date fixed by the Executive Committee
at 2.30 p.m. unless the two teams have agreed to a date prior to the scheduled date. The WSCAI office must be notified of such changes.
9.3
Each team shall nominate a pitch for home matches.
9.4
Each home team shall provide;
a) A pair of nets.
b) Four corner flags.
c) Medical Kit.
d) One football of match standard, in the case of Premier league and Intervarsity matches this should be an International match
standard football.
9.5
Games shall be of ninety minutes duration.
10: MATCHES
10.1
All matches, venues and times of kick-off shall be arranged by the Executive Committee. Matches may be played on Astroturf pitches where
grass pitches are not playable. Teams are expected to have appropriate footwear available for Astroturf pitches.
10.2
No team shall have the power to break or postpone a League fixture without obtaining the consent of the Executive Committee. This consent
will only be forthcoming under extremely exceptional circumstances e.g. due to the death of the immediate family of a player on a
participating team. Or in the case of general term holidays and exam periods of the relevant college, application to postpone a fixture must be
submitted to the General secretary by November 1st on the appropriate form.
10.3
In the event of any match being unfinished due to any reason the Executive Committee, having regard to all circumstances, may reschedule
the match or award the result as appropriate and take any other action it considers appropriate to arrive at a proper and fair result.
10.4
Teams having one or more players selected to play in a representative match may apply for the postponement of a League fixture arranged
for them within a week of the representative match. The postponed fixture must be replayed on or before the Friday immediately after the
representative match. If it fails to take place prior to this deadline then rule 10.10 (b) shall apply.
10.5
The position of winners and runner-up in the League shall be adjudged by the total number of points awarded to the team. At the end
of each competition the team scoring the highest number of points shall be declared the winners. A win in a league match shall be
worth three points with a draw being worth one point. In the event of a tie on points, the team who gained the most points from the
previous league fixture(s) against their tied opponent(s) shall be deemed to be ranked the higher league position. If however the teams still
remain level, a single play-off match in a neutral venue shall be arranged to decide the outcome A team that is in a promotion / playoff
position at the end of a league campaign must move up a level or participate in the playoff matches otherwise they shall be eligible to a fine
of €300
10.6
The following promotion and relegation shall apply to the annual leagues;
Premier Division:
Last position - Automatic relegation to the first division
2nd last position - A single play-off match in a neutral venue against the First division runners-up.
First Division:
Winners - Automatic promotion to the Premier division
Runners-up - A single play-off match in a neutral venue against the 2nd last team in the Premier division.
Last position - Relegation to the regional leagues.
2nd last position – A single play-off match in a neutral venue against the Regional Leagues play-off runners-up.
Regional Leagues:
The winners of each regional group to playoff for the title of National Regional Champions. The format of these
playoffs to be decided by the executive committee.
National Winner - Automatic promotion to the First division
Runner Up - A single play-off match in a neutral venue against the 2nd last team in the First Division
10.7
A fixture can only be postponed in very exceptional circumstances e.g. as in rule 10.2 above. The Secretary of the League should be notified
of a request for a postponement. A neutral member of the Executive Committee must be contacted if the League Secretary cannot be
contacted or the League Secretary's own team is involved in the fixture.
10.8
If weather conditions are inclement, the home team must arrange for a pitch inspection twenty-four hours before kick-off. In the event that
the pitch is unplayable the home team must contact the away team within one and a half hours of the pitch inspection to inform them of that
fact, the away team then have two hours in which to instigate rule 10.10 (B) 1. If a team has travelled to an away fixture and the game is
postponed the home team lose home advantage in the re-fixed game. The home team may have to contribute to the travelling and other
reasonable expenses of the away team subject to investigation by the Executive Committee.
10.9
If a team has two teams participating in WSCAI leagues („A‟ and „B‟ teams), a player who plays (not including unused substitutes) more
than two games for the „A‟ team in a particular season, may not play any further games for the „B‟ team that season.
10.10
a) All fixtures, apart from the final round of the league, must be played on or before the Friday date set by the executive committee. If
the two teams agree to a date prior to the date fixed, the game may take place at that stage. If no agreement can be reached the
following format will be used; the home team shall nominate two days between Monday and Thursday for the game to take place.
The away team shall choose the match day between these two days. Both teams will notify their league secretary of the agreed date on
or before the previous Friday by 1pm. The final round of league fixtures must be played on the Wednesday date set by the Executive
Committee.
b) In the event of a game not being played on the first date agreed for any reason other than in accordance with rule 10.8 the following shall
apply;
1) The original fixture shall reverse and become a home game for the away team on the same date and time as originally agreed.
2) If the game cannot be played at the venue in 1) above and cannot be refixed to be played by the given Friday date, then the game
may be re-fixed by the executive committee.
10.11
a) With respect to the arrangement of a kick off time in a fixture between two opposing colleges, responsibility for making contact with each
other shall be mutually shared. This means that the onus for making contact does not lie solely with either the home or away team but is
equally shared by both. In the event of a fixture then not taking place rule 10.10 shall apply.
b) If a team is not on the field of play within fifteen minutes of the allotted kick-off time they shall forfeit the game.
10.12
Any midweek regional, first division or Challenge Cup games involving teams travelling more than 150 miles apart may be
rescheduled for a suitable half-way venue provided that both teams agree to this, that the away team organise a pitch and referee. The
away team must make an agreed contribution towards the travelling expenses of the home team.‟
10.13
Home teams shall provide at least tea / coffee / sandwiches to visiting teams. Teams are asked to be cognisant of the distance travelled by
visiting teams.
11. REFEREES AND LINESMEN
11.1
The home team is to appoint an official Referee for their games.
11.2
In the event of a referee not attending, the game need not take place, however if both teams agree to a referee the game may proceed. In the
event of the game not taking place the home team shall lose home advantage in the re-fixture.
11.3
Each team is expected if possible to arrange for Linesmen for each home fixture.
11.4
When a referee has been appointed for a match within the jurisdiction of the League, no objection to such official will be entertained from a
team or teams participating in the match except in the case where an objection/complaint has been lodged and sustained by the Executive
Committee.
11.5
The Referee and Linesmen shall be paid prior to kick-off by the home team.
11.6
The Referee shall have power to decide on the fitness of the ground for play, any objections to the pitch or equipment provided must be
made to the Referee before the start of the game
11.7
The secretary or other responsible official of each contesting team in a match shall, prior to kick-off, fill in the referees card showing the full
forename and surname of the players participating in the match and shall sign the card.
11.8
Referees written reports in respect of cautions and sending-offs must reach the league Secretary within three clear days of the match in which
the cautioning or sending-off took place.
11.9
All home teams must report in results and scorer‟s to the WSCAI office by 5.30 p.m. on the day of a fixture. Failure to do so shall incur an
automatic fine of €15.
11.10
All home teams must submit a match card for each fixture, complete with full home and away team squad lists, final scores and names of all
scorers, to the WSCAI, not later than five days (not including Saturday and Sunday) after the match has taken place. Failure to do so shall
incur an automatic fine of €15
12. PROTESTS
12.1
Protests must be forwarded in writing to the League Secretary by registered post bearing a post mark within three days (excluding Saturday,
Sunday and Bank Holidays) of the date of the fixture and must be accompanied by a fee of €100. The Secretary shall forward a copy of the
protest to the secretary of the team protested against. This team will be afforded a period of three days (excluding Saturday, Sunday and
Bank Holidays) upon receipt of the letter to lodge a reply with the Executive Committee. A copy of the reply must also be sent to the
secretary of the protesting team. The protest fee shall be returned in the event of the protest being upheld. All protests shall be dealt with by
the Executive Committee.
12.2
Protests must be dealt with by the Executive Committee within two weeks of receiving them.
13. DISCIPLINE
13.1
Any player or official who is sent off by the referee in a league match will be automatically suspended for the next League match, where a
player or official is sent off in a cup fixture the suspension shall apply in the next round of the cup unless the team has no more cup games,
then the suspension shall apply in the next league fixture. Suspensions shall not carry over into the following season or into the Intervarsities.
Any player or official who is sent off in a game in any competition shall be subject to a fine of up to €50
13.2
Teams which give a walk-over in any fixture shall be subject to a fine of up to €150 (in the case of Premier league games up to €350) plus
they must pay reasonable travelling expenses to the other team if they have travelled to the fixture. In the event of a dispute the Executive
Committee shall be the arbitrators of the expenses claim. In the event of a team giving a walk-over a score of 2-0 shall be the deemed result.
If a team fails to fulfil two fixtures they shall be automatically relegated from their division and shall not participate further in the League that
season. The Executive committee shall review their continued participation in other events also.
13.3
The Executive Committee shall have the power to discipline any player or team registered with the League, in relation to their behaviour
relating to the playing or organising of games. It shall deal with all cases of referees reports, team complaints and protests. Where it deems it
so necessary, the Executive Committee shall have power to expel from membership.
13.4
Teams that owe greater than €200 from the previous year shall not be allowed to participate in WSCAI competitions until the debt has been
completely cleared.
14. RULES OF THE INTERVARSITY COMPETITION
14.1
The competition shall be called the Women‟s Soccer Intervarsity tournament and shall be open to all teams in membership of the WSCAI
14.2
The competition shall be under the control of the Executive Committee of the WSCAI
14.3
Twelve teams shall be allowed to compete in the actual tournament itself. The closing date for the competition shall be 14th December prior
to the tournament. Each team must pay a €200 refundable deposit six weeks before the date of the competition to the treasurer of the WSCAI
This deposit shall be repaid once a team has fulfilled all their fixtures in the Intervarsities.
14.4
Each team must submit to the host colleges organising committee a photo and brief sporting curriculum vitae of each member of their panel
at least one month before the tournament.
14.5
If more than twelve teams wish to partake in the Intervarsities the following priorities shall apply:
1) The top two teams in each group in the previous year‟s Intervarsities shall automatically be included
2) If there are more than four further teams seeking admission these teams shall playoff for the four remaining places.
The Executive committee shall decide the details of these playoffs.
3) The host college shall automatically qualify.
14.6
For teams qualifying under 14.5 above the following will apply: The Intervarsity Cup finalists and the top two teams of the Premier League
from the previous season shall be seeded into separate groups. The Intervarsity Cup semi-finalists and the third and fourth placed teams of
the Premier League from the previous season shall also be seeded into separate groups. (Should there be a vacancy in any of these seeded
positions then a replacement team can be found by referring to the Premier – and if necessary the First Division – positions from the previous
seasons. At the Intervarsity Competition each game shall last eighty minutes. Three points shall be awarded to the winner of group games
with one point for a draw. In the event of a tie on points, goal difference shall be decisive. In the event of two or more teams being equal on
points and goal difference, goals for shall determine the winners and if there is still no winner a penalty shoot- out shall determine the
winners. Each team shall take five penalties each and if needed a sudden-death shoot-out shall then take place. The winner of each group
shall progress to the Cup semi-finals with the second team in each group going into the plate semi-finals.
14.7
The tournament shall take place over three days with the group matches taking place on day one and the morning of day two. The cup and
plate semi-finals to take place on the afternoon of day two with the two finals on day three, the plate-final to precede the Cup final. The Plate
final must kick-off at least two and a half hours prior to the Cup final to allow for extra time if necessary.
14.8
A player of the tournament award shall be decided by the referees of the tournament, each game to have a player of the match and the player
with the most votes shall be the player of the tournament. If there is a draw for the player of the tournament, the Executive Committee shall
be responsible for the Player of the tournament award in conjunction with the referees.
14.9
a) The following are the duties of the host committee;
1) to organise pitches for the tournament including the preliminary tournament,
2) to produce a tournament programme.
3) to organise referees for the tournament including the preliminary tournament, and must provide the Executive Committee
with the contact details of the allotted referees at least two weeks prior to the tournament taking place. Also to obtain
confirmation from the local referees board of the allotted referees‟ status
b) The association shall:
1) purchase the trophies for the tournament, Cup winners and runners up, Plate winners and runners up and the Player of the
Tournament award
2) receive an entry fee from each team entering the tournament. The entry fee shall be €200, €100 of which shall be returned
to teams failing to qualify through the playoffs. This shall be paid along with the deposit six weeks prior to the start of the
tournament
14.10
If a team fails to attend the tournament having entered they will forfeit their entry fee and also their deposit. They will automatically be
excluded from the following years tournament.
14.11
If a team fails to attend, the other two teams in their group shall play each other twice (once on day one and once on the morning of day two).
14.12
The Intervarsity Cup and Plate to be presented to the respective winners directly after the Finals. Following the presentation, trophies are to
be returned to the Committee. Individual trophies to be presented at the banquet.
15. RULES OF THE INTERPROVINCIAL TOURNAMENT
15.1
This tournament shall be run over a consecutive two day period on a league basis. A team shall receive three points for a win and one point
for a draw. In the event of a tie on points goal difference shall decide the winners, if goal difference is equal goals for shall decide the
outcome otherwise a penalty shoot- out shall apply with each team taking five penalties with sudden death penalties if necessary.
15.2
Five substitutes shall be allowed.
15.3
Games shall be of ninety minutes duration.
15.4
A player receiving two yellow cards or a red card shall be ineligible for the next game in the tournament.
15.5
A decision of the Executive Committee of the WSCAI shall be final on any issue relating to the tournament, no right of appeal shall exist
where the completion of the tournament is at issue.
15.6
In the year of a World Student Games competition, eligibility for the Interprovincial tournament shall extend to players who left their
colleges in the previous academic year.
15.7
Each team will receive funding of €1,000 from the WSCAI.
16. RULES OF THE WSCAI CUP COMPETITION
16.1
The competition shall be open to all teams not involved in the Premier or First Division League.. The draw shall be open, the first team
drawn being the home side.
16.2
Games up to and including the finals shall be ninety minutes in duration with twenty minutes extra time and penalties if necessary. Kick off
shall be 2 p.m. sharp.
16.3
The final shall be played at a neutral venue.
17. RULES OF THE WSCAI FUTSAL TOURNAMENT
17.1
A Futsal Intervarsity tournament shall take place. A maximum of sixteen teams shall partake in this tournament. A club may not enter a
second team if a club who have no team in the tournament wish to enter a team. Clubs with more than one team in the competition may not
be drawn in the same group during the group stages. The Executive Committee shall decide the format of this tournament and provide the
registered teams with an outline of rules no less than one week before the tournament.
17.2
The teams shall be made up of five players from a panel of ten. This shall be the same panel throughout the tournament. Substitutions are
unlimited and can be made at any stage.
17.3
The Executive Committee shall set the entry fee for the tournament taking into account the costs of the tournament and they should seek to
make the event self financing.
17.4
A representative from each team participating in the Futsal Tournament must register with a representative of the executive committee or
their delegated representative, 30 minutes before the team‟s first game. Failure to do so can result in a fine not to exceed €50.
18. RULES OF THE WSCAI FRESHERS TOURNAMENT
18.1
The tournament shall be open to players who have not played in a WSCAI Intervarsities. The WSCAI Intervarsities does not include the
preliminary tournament.
18.2
The tournament shall be run over one day in a league format with a knock out stage to determine the overall winner.
18.3
The Executive Committee shall set the entry fee for the tournament taking into account the costs of the tournament and they should seek to
make the event self financing.
18.4
A representative from each team participating in the Freshers Tournament must register with a representative of the executive committee or
their delegated representative, 30 minutes before the team‟s first game. Failure to do so can result in a fine not to exceed €50.
18.5:
Teams shall consist of seven players from a panel of twelve. This shall be the same panel throughout the tournament. Substitutions are
unlimited and can be made at any stage.
