3.2.2.010.3 Switch-disconnector fuses, fuse-switch disconnectors and

switch-disconnectors shall be type-tested in accordance with clause 8.2 and

clause 8.3 of BSEN 60947-3 : 1992. For switch-disconnectors to be used

in circuits protected by fuses, test sequence III of clause 8.3.5 is not

required, but test sequence IV of clause 8.3.6 shall be performed to such

switch-disconnectors connected in series with BSEN 60269-1 : 1994,

BSEN 60269-2 : 1995 and BS 88 : Part 2 : Section 2.2 : 1988 fuse links of

the corresponding rated maximum current.

3.2.2.020.A The following test sequences of BSEN 60947-3 : 1992 shall be carried out

by an Independent Short Circuit Testing Organisation.

a. For fuse combination units – test sequences I & IV

b. For switch - disconnectors – test sequences I & III

3.2.2.030.3 For switching devices with electrolytically deposited silver contacts, the

temperature-rise requirement for the contact parts shall comply with the

limit as specified in Table II of BSEN 60947-1 : 1992.

3.2.2.040.3 Type-test for switch-disconnectors may be waived if they are converted

from type-tested switch-disconnector fuses/fuse-switch disconnectors by

replacing the fuse links with copper short links for a rated operational

current not greater than the maximum rated operational current for the

original switch-disconnector fuses/fuse-switch disconnectors and are

installed in circuits protected by fuses to BSEN 60269-1 : 1994, BSEN

60269-2 : 1995 and BS 88 : Part 2 : Section 2.2 : 1988.

3.2.3.010.3 Switch-disconnector fuses, fuse-switch disconnectors and

switch-disconnectors shall be triple or single pole with detachable fully

rated front accessible neutral link.

3.2.3.020.A For fuse combination units with current ratings above 100A, the switching

devices shall make and break on both the incoming supply side and the

outgoing load side.

3.2.3.030.A For fuse combination units with current ratings of 100A and below, fuse

bases and carriers shall be provided for housing the fuse links if the
