BOARD GAME
Ancient Rome
You are going to create a board game. You will use facts about Ancient
Rome - taken from all four chapters in your textbook, (11,12,13,14).
Your game must include the following:
A creative name which relates to Ancient Rome
A typed list of easy-to-follow game instructions
Four game place markers – all place markers should relate to facts about Ancient Rome, and
each place marker must be different than the other three place markers.
A game board made of heavy, sturdy cardboard or of foam board.
QUESTION and ANSWER Cards – Requirements:
1) Minimum of 20 cards
2) 3”x5” index card cut in half
3) One side of each card contains the Question which is written in RED.
4) One side of each card contains the Answer which is written in BLUE.
5) A spinner or die/dice which indicate(s) the number of spaces the player may move the place
marker. The spinner or die/dice must be made of heavy cardboard or of other sturdy material.
You will work on your game board in Social Studies class periods, only.
Of the elements that you create for your game board project none may be
created at home and none may leave the classroom.
You may work alone or with one other person.
The following, #1 -7, are Required Materials and must be brought to class.
1) Heavy cardboard or foam board
2) 3”x5” index cards (at least 20)
3) Materials to create your spinner or die/dice
4) Markers - various colors – please include black marker(s)
5) Glue sticks and/or glue
6) Scissors (may also include scissors which create designs as they cut the paper)
7) Tape, (may use clear, masking, duct, packing, electrical tape)
OPTIONAL: Yarn, ‘glitter-glue’, construction paper, pipe cleaners, wrapping paper, ribbon, stickers,
scrapbook materials, small action figures, tiny trees or houses or animals or vehicles, etc., Legos, cotton balls,
popsicle sticks, Sharpies, ruler, hole punch(er), clay. You may use other materials ONLY with permission from
Mrs. Trachtenberg.
Bring all required materials to class on ____________________.
Be creative, use important information about Ancient Rome from all four
chapters (11,12,13,14), and work safely.
