Hawkeye Rural Electric Cooperative                     Winneshiek, Howard,     Hawkeye and Heartland Power will work in partnership with Dairyland        $            39,720.00   $         83,750.00
                                                       Mitchell, Worth,        Power Coop to establish a community based energy audit program and
                                                       Winnebago, Chickasaw,   an energy efficiency "apprenticeship" program with the region's
                                                       and Floyd Counties      community college. Students participating in the apprenticeship program
                                                                               would shadow the trained energy auditors during residential, industrial,
                                                                               lighting and farm audits. They would also work with consumers, farmers,
                                                                               and businessmen to implement recommended energy savings activities.




Iowa Mennonite School                                  Kalona                  The school, Farmers Electric Coop, Central Plains Solar, and local         $             9,475.00   $         10,475.00
                                                                               community & Power Fund will partner to install photovoltaic array on the
                                                                               IMS school grounds. The PV array will provide the catalyst for education
                                                                               and increased awareness in the school and community about renewable
                                                                               energy and the important of energy conservation.




City of Woodbine                                       Woodbine                The objective is to achieve a 15% reduction in energy consumption in the   $            39,000.00   $         40,400.00
                                                                               downtown business district through implementation of the plan and
                                                                               energy efficiency improvements recommended in Cenergy energy audits
                                                                               geared toward HVAC and insulation improvements as well as other
                                                                               needed improvements. Funds would be used to develop a sustainable
                                                                               financing option for implementation work.

                                                                     classes to help adults and young people in Kirkwood's 7 county service
                                                                     area understand how to use energy more efficiently, increase awareness
                                                                     of occupation and career opportunities in selected renewable and
                                                                     alternative energy categories.




Greater Dallas County Development Alliance       Dallas County       The Alliance will provide a multi-step educational program that will allow $                   50,000.00   $         70,250.00
                                                                     communities, through increased capacity, to ultimately reduce their
                                                                     energy consumption by implementing sustainable actions. Will provide 17
                                                                     community sustainable workshops to provide overview of sustainability
                                                                     initiatives and to develop common understanding within local government
                                                                     and community groups to allow them to begin to develop a vision for
                                                                     sustainability and learn how to take action.



Indianola Municipal Utilities                    Indianola           The project is to identify, develop, fund and implement new strategies            $            50,000.00   $         77,500.00
                                                                     that can best reduce energy consumption and overall carbon footprint
                                                                     within the city corporate boundaries over the next 5 years. Improve long-
                                                                     term viability by increasing efficiency to help overcome the combined
                                                                     economic disadvantages of being a primarily bedroom community and
                                                                     persistent energy cost increases. Project study will include an energy
                                                                     study, traffic and commuting study for work hubs, and priority cost/benefit
                                                                     study

Winneshiek Energy District                       Winneshiek          The purpose is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and the drain of                $            41,350.00   $         42,500.00
                                                                     energy costs from the local economy in Winneshiek Co. through 3
                                                                     specific, high-impact, replicable pilot projects. 1) The active facilitation of
                                                                     an ongoing community energy roundtable, and of specific partnerships
                                                                     and projects with stakeholders, 2) Begin community-wide retrofit through
                                                                     the establishment of an energy planning and technical assistance
                                                                     program, 3) A multi-faceted education, awareness, and demonstration
                                                                     campaign.
