The Beginning of the Eiffel
Tower
Before the Eiffel Tower was built 300 people signed a
petition, protesting it’s construction. Nature lovers
thought it would interfere with the birds. The
Eiffel Tower was first started being built in 1888
for Paris Exposition of 1889. It was finished in May
1889. The Eiffel Tower is 1,052 feet tall. The Prince
of Wales officiated at the ceremonial opening. In
1910 it became part of the International Time
Service.
