Directions: Read through the following instructions before traveling on your
virtual field trip. While on this journey, there are four activities you are to complete.
1. Briefly tour the virtual field trip for an overview
2. Listing of the categories found in the virtual field trip
3. Locating new words and writing their meanings
4. Selecting several categories and describing what was viewed there.
WARNING WARNING WARNING: It is easy to get sidetracked on
your virtual field trip journey. Watch the clock, there is one on the back wall, so your
trip won’t get cut short!
Enjoy your trip! Hope you learn lots along the way!
ACTIVITY # 1
Sit back and tour each of the categories in the field trip. Click on at least two sites within
each category. Once you’ve completed the brief tour, return to the virtual field trip’s
home page. Now you are ready to gather information along the way.

categories than others.)

word you list, write what you think the word means. Later, check your definition with a
dictionary’s definition.

As you continue your travels, select three categories that interest you the most. Visit
two sites in each category. Write the name of each of the two categories and list the
names of the two sites you visited. Also, write a three interesting facts you learned
while visiting each category.

Of the sites you visited on your virtual field trip, which would you like to visit in person?
Why? Also, who would you like to take with you on this trip and why? Describe how
you would plan this trip. Be sure to include such things as: how you would get there,
time of the year, length of trip, items you would take, type of clothing needed, etc.
