I. Aqeedah
1) Aqeedah means how to obey/serve/worship Allah (Swt).
2) Tawheed means to ascribe unity to something. The concept of believing something
to be one.
3) Importance Of Tawheed

1. Omniety Tawheed- ( وحدWahad) one

III. 7 Traps of Shaytan
1) Associating someone with Allah or not worshiping at all i.e. shirk – and if he fails at
this he moves to the next trap.
2) Innovations/Bid’ah- This comes way before the trap of major sins- because one can
make tawbah for major sins but when they think bid’ah is a good thing, they will not
make tawbah! The trap of major sins- disobedience of the parents –adultery etc –
Allah says in the Quran.
3) Major Sins- how does he use this against us? He makes it seem to us as though it is a
minor sin
4) Minor sins: The collection of minor sins is like a waterfall- drop by drop becomes a
stream and which becomes a river.
5) Preoccupying you with permissible things (mubah)- he doesn’t me to obey Allah
(Swt) so he will distract me by halal things but they will take me from more important
things.
6) Preoccupying with deeds of lesser rewards- opportunity costs when faced with two
options – and he will prompt to the person to do the lesser deed
7) Deploying His soldiers against you- the example of companion Umar (ra), and how
he was killed shaheed by a fire worshipper.
IV. Tawheed
1) There are three types of tawheed:
Ulbohiyah (Oneness)
Ruboobiyah
Asm Was Sifat
Nmes And Attributes
2) Tawheed Rubobbiyah
Nurturing- Tarbiyah
Self sustaining
Worthy to be worshipped
You can only replinis, nurturer, and sustain your soul from that in
which it came from.
Care taker
One who is obeyed
True and complete owner (you have control over).
3) Tawheed Ruboobiyah means to believe that only Allah (SWT) creates, sustains, and
owns the entire creation. He alone is the master controller and nourisher.
1. Proof:
Creation
Fitrah (Pureness, natural inclination) it is the innocence in the heart, the
choice of right or wrong without talking to people.
Innate feeling of helplenees, and turning to a creator
Sending of prophets, revelation of books.
Signs (ayyat) of creation
V. Conditions of kalimah
1) Knowledge of its meaning (Surat Muhammed verse 19)
1. Benefits:
o Forgiveness
o Protection from hell-Fire
o Brother hood
o Protection from evil deeds
o Fruits of its forgiveness. Ask Allah for forgiveness by saying it
2) Certainty (Yaqeen)
o You know Islam is right but when you get an assignment you start questioning
it.(in other words you have no doubts about it)
o A truthful person ( To look up to)
o One looks up to a person and will do anything they do this, but they can’t trust
Allah and do it.
3) Accept it
o I know for a fact that it is right but I won’t accept it and it is like you do your
thing and ill do mine.
o Allah (Swt) brought down the quran and in one verse at a time for them to accept
it slowly.
4) Submit to it
o Knew all it but didn’t submit to it
o Memorized Quran (English and Arabic) plus the bible but doesn’t submit to it
(Does wrong) then what’s the use.
5) Truthful to it
o Telling others to do something while your not doing it.
o If a drinking buddy guides you to islam he stops drinking and becomes a better
Muslim and his buddy is being hurt.
o Movies that give the powers of god to a character.
o If you don’t believe it and you see it then your supporting it (Act upon what you
learn, honesty)
6) Sincerity (Ikhlas)
o The internal feeling that you are doing it for Allah (SWT)
o Akhar gain not dunya gain.
o Ex. Going to school to get an education to get a good joc to donate the money to
charity, and supporting my family.
o What are you truly doing it for?
o Intention. Opposite of shirk.
o Diong it for the right desire.(need it not want it)
7) Love
o Love of Allah, love of his oneness, love for the kalimah.
o Love for what we have.
8) Deny every other object of worship
o If something is going in the way of the worship of Allah.
9) Adheres to the shahada until he/she dies
o Not turning back on the shahada. Not leaving islam.
o Adheres means to “stick” to something.
o Stick to Islam and not ever leave until you die.
VI. Importance of awareness
1) People need an alarm to wake them and in order for them to be aware of the
punishments.
2) Muhammed (S) was an alarm to the people to guide them on the straight path like an
alarm wakes one on time.
3) One should be thankful for what they have because they will never know when it will
be gone. (one doesn’t know the importance of something until its gone).
4) Explanation of the Dunya
o We need to expiate our sins in the dunya by repentence, and istaighfar:active
seeking forgiveness. Note: heart needs to be engaged.
o If our sins are not removed than we move on to the next level.
5) Explanation of the grave
o This is a form of purification before entering jannah
o This includes the crushing of the grave and it cleans the soul before it can enter
jannah
6) Explanation of the day of judgment
o The terror of the day of judgment is to the extent that even a pregnant woman
would abandon her unborn child because everyone would be looking at their own
interest.
o The only ones to have shade are those mentioned in the famous hadith (Seven of
them)
o If Allah does not give mercy then the next step is Hell-Fire.
7) Explanation of Hell-Fire
o Those who will come from jahannam and enter jannah will be called the
jahannamiyoon.
o After the purification of the fire they will enter jannah with the permission of
Allah (swt).
8) Ibn al-Qayim said: "On his way to Allah, a [believer's] heart is likened to a bird: love
is its head, fear and hope are its wings. Hence, when the head and wings are sound,
the bird will perfectly fly; if the head is cut, the bird will die and when he loses the
wings, he will be inevitably objected to hunting".
o Love towards Allah by worshipping. Hope will always be there for him it’s a
blessing to hope.
o Hope but love before you hope and fear him as well.
