Imtech: orders 96 million euro for technology on
luxury yachts and cruise ships
Gouda, The Netherlands – Imtech (technical services provider in Europe) announces
that it recently won orders from several ship owners and shipyards in the Netherlands,
Germany, Russia, the USA and the United Arab Emirates for technological solutions
on board various yachts and cruise ships. The total value of these orders is more than
96 million euro.

The market for luxury yachts and cruise ships continues to grow and Imtech is one of the
strongest players in this segment. The market is served from Imtech's various maritime
competence centres in Europe, the USA and the Far East. Imtech's innovative range of
services includes integrated and automated ship bridges, propulsion & drive, alarm &
monitoring, navigation & communication, on-board IT networks, electrical engineering, air
conditioning and climate control systems, fire safety and integral security. Environmental
sustainability and energy saving are of primary concern to Imtech.

Orders have recently been received for luxury mega yachts between 30 and 85 metres long
from the Dutch Feadship Shipyard in Aalsmeer and Makkum, the German Nobiskrug
Shipyard in Rendsburg, the Russian Moscow Shipyard and the Delta Marine Shipyard in
Seattle, USA. An exceptional order was also received for the luxury giga yacht Swift 141.
This is the former ‘Hr. Ms. Piet Heyn’, a Dutch 130-metre S-class frigate that was sold to the
navy of the United Arab Emirates by the Dutch navy in the period 1997-1998 and was re-
christened ‘F02 Al Emerat’. It was recently decided that this ship would be converted to an
extremely luxurious giga yacht of 141 metres, with Imtech being responsible for the entire
automation, the energy-efficient drives, the navigation & communication on board and the
complete range of electrical solutions.

Imtech was also recently commissioned to implement technological solutions on board of
three new luxury cruise ships to be constructed at the German Meyer Shipyard (Meyer Werft)
in Papenburg. One ship is 314 metres long with almost 1,400 cabins, for up to 2,800
passengers, and two are 340 metres long with more than 1,250 larger cabins, for up to 2,500
passengers. Imtech will equip the ships with modern, energy-efficient solutions in the field of
Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and will also provide most of the
engineering for these systems. With the Imtech solutions, the ships will satisfy the highest
standards of comfort for the quality of clean air, which can be regulated individually per
cabin.

The yachts will be completed in the period 2008-2010 and the cruise ships in the period
2009-2010.
