I. Vocabulary usually evolves as our reading grows and serves as a fundamental tool for
communication. Let us acquire new words.
• Children will have to make their own dictionary.
They will write down two new words, which they have not heard before, for every letter of the
alphabet for example, words like excitement, regular, secret etc
Thereafter, they will do the following work, related to the above work:
• Make sentences with fifteen of these new words.
Please note that the above mentioned work is to be done in the literature note book
II. A poem always begins in delight and ends in wisdom. It helps us to understand the wonders
of nature so let us turn to a famous poem this summer:
One poem has to be learnt from the two poems given below:

MATHEMATICS
JUGGLING NUMBERS
From old newspapers cut out digits 0 to 9 and stick them in a creative
manner. Make sure the digits are not too small. Juggle the digits to make
the numbers described below.
The challenge is you can use a digit only once
in a number.
1) Make the smallest number using all the digits.
2) Make the greatest number using all the digits.
3) Make the greatest possible number that is greater than
8000 but less than 8500.
4) Make the smallest number that is greater than 4316.
5) Make the number which comes between 4999 and 5001.
6) Make the successor of 2090.
7) Make the predecessor of 8000.
NOTE : All the homework is to be done in your math notebook.

HEALING NATURALLY
Life is beautiful and so is the nature which surrounds it. This summer vacation let us not only
appreciate the mesmerizing beauty of nature by meditating or visiting a hill station to avoid
scorching heat but also by revealing the great truths of it acting as a balm to soothe the wounds
or various common ailments which we encounter so often . Let us learn about medicinal herbs,
flowers and other ways to bring our whole self in harmony with nature’s way of healing .

Q3. Paste or draw any two medicinal herbs.
