      The 55+ Programs are a network of local programs organized to meet the
      needs of Scarborough seniors. A volunteer committee works with the Senior
      Program Coordinator to research, plan and develop programs and services for
      Scarborough adults 55 and over. Programs include events, bus trips, and weekly
      transportation to several popular destinations.

      55+ programming also sponsors lunches on Wednesdays at the Hillcrest
      Recreation Center at 108 Hillcrest Avenue in Scarborough during the months of
      September through June. Lunches are always followed by a program of music,
      informational presentations, arts, or dancing. See the 55+ newsletter for a
      schedule of upcoming events. Time: 11.00 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. Cost is $5 for
      residents, $7 non-residents, or $4 with an As You Like It ticket. Other programs
      at Hillcrest include BINGO on Mondays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Fridays
      from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

      55+ also offers programs at Bessey Commons, including "Choices," a healthy
      living program on Mondays and an exercise class for older adults on Thursdays.

      The Scarborough 55+ bus provides transportation to Senior College for the
      Spring and Fall semesters. Transportation is provided for SAGE on Tuesday
      mornings and all classes of OLLI on Friday. Round trip fees are $2 from the high
      school parking lot, or for Scarborough residents only, door to door service is
      offered for a round trip fee of $5.
