*Texas Projection Measure (TPM) -is an estimate of whether a student is likely to pass the Texas
Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) tests at a future grade. This measure is based on (1) a
student’s current performance on TAKS and (2) the TAKS scores from all students in the campus that a
student attends. This was not used in 2011 status calculations.
2010 Rating- Exemplary after use of TPM and exception (can only use 1 per year).
2011 Rating Academically acceptable – If the 2010 accountability rules applied for 2011rating
and if we had no Hispanic sub-group in science, Newton Rayzor would be exemplary. Overall,
no change in 2 subgroups, positive growth in 10 sub-groups and drop in 4 sub-groups.
Reason for drop in accountability ratings: TEA elimination of the Texas Projection measure,
lower test scores in 2 science sub-groups. Missed Recognized status by 2 student scores.
