WHAT’S HAPPENING TODAY!
OCHSA FASHION SHOW/RECYCLE YOUR BRAIN EVENT: OCHSA! You won’t want to miss today’s after
school events! Symphony Hall will host the OCHSA Spring Fashion show – a $1 ticket must be purchased to
enter, and at the same time the “Recycle Your Brain” festival with game booths, free food, music, cool
environmental “Green” stuff and half pipe skate demos will be in full swing in the OCHSA staff parking lot. The
festival activities will end at 5:00 pm. This is a great way to celebrate the last Friday of the school
year......see you there!
TEXTBOOK RETURN: Students can turn in textbooks during their designated Lit and Comp block, during
lunch, or any day immediately after school. If you need to retain any of your books for study purposes, you
may do so, however, you will not be cleared for graduation and end of the year dismissal until your books
have been accounted for and turned in. Seniors must return their books no later than today in order to
receive their yearbook.
FILM & TELEVISION CINEPLEX: What do animated comedies, music videos and a zombie thriller have in
common? They’re all screening at Film & TV’s Spring CINEPLEX! Come see films by FTV students tonight at
Chapman’s Folino Theatre in Orange. All shows start at 7 p.m. and tickets are only $6 online, $10 at the
door. Check the OCHSA online box office for more details!
CMD BONFIRE: CMD conservatory students are reminded that the CMD bonfire is tonight at Huntington
Beach from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. Be sure to bring a blanket!
TODAY’S CENTER STAGE BISTRO COMBINATION PLATE MENU: Pizza ~ $4. Other a la carte items
available during the day – Prices vary.
AP EXAM GRADE REPORTING: Students who took AP exams in May can access their exam grades
starting July 1st and send their grades to colleges starting July 3rd using College Board’s AP Automated Grade
Reporting Service. Students will be able to call (888) 308-0013) toll free 24 hours a day after the
implementation dates. Be sure you have your AP ID number when you call ~ this number can be found on
your AP Student Pack that you were to keep after the exams.
WORK PERMITS: If you are under the age of 18 and plan to work during the summer, you are required by
the Department of Labor to have a work permit. During the school year you may obtain a work permit from
the front desk receptionist. During the summer when OCHSA is closed you must obtain a work permit from
your home school district office.
FINAL EXAMS: Final exams begin on Tuesday, June 9th. The exam schedule is on the hard copy of the
Art Attack. Outside appointments and events should not be scheduled during exam times.
CAFETERIA: FYI ~ Next week all food items will be sold in the cafeteria only.
YOUNG ARTISTS PHILHARMONIC DEBUT CONCERT: Staff, students and their families are invited to the
debut concert of the Young Artists Philharmonic. On June 20th at 2:00 pm and again at 8:00 pm in
OCHSA’s Symphony Hall this completely student operated and directed orchestra will come together for one
spectacular night of music. The orchestra created by Instrumental Music Conservatory seniors Isaac Kramer
and Kris Najarian will be donating all the proceeds from this event to back to OCHSA. Tickets may be ordered
online and purchased at the door. Come support this great event and help give back to OCHSA!
9 -12 GRADE TRANSCRIPT REQUESTS: Students who may need official transcripts during the summer are
must order them now through OCHSA’s online secure transcript service - Docufide (www.docufide.com).
When requesting your transcript be sure to request your grades through 2nd semester. During the summer
break transcript processing will not be available. Unofficial transcripts will be available for download on the
student Aeries account (sis.ocsarts.net) prior to June 8th and after June 22nd. This is the only information you
will be able to access from the student Aeries account during the summer months.
INTEGRATED ARTS: Attention Integrated Arts students ~ If you had art work that was used in Season
Finale you need to come today to the 2nd floor Arts Office and pick it up. If you are missing any of your art
work from your art classes you may also find it in Mrs. Stafford’s office.
MT ADVANCED ACTING CLASS: Attention Ms. Stafford’s MT Advanced Acting class ~ Do not forget to
hand in your books if you have not already, and to those students who have turned their book in, please pick it
up in the Arts office today.
IM MUSIC THEORY PLACEMENT TEST: Second notice! Instrumental Music 8th graders! If you are an
Instrumental Music student entering 9th grade next year, you may take a Music Theory placement test if you
would like to try to test out of Music Theory 1. The placement test will be given twice on Tuesday, June 9th, at
1:45 and at 4:00 pm in room 401. It is not required that you take the test; if you opt not to take it, you will
automatically be placed in Music Theory 1 next year.
IM LIBRARY RETURNS: Second notice Instrumental Music students! If you have checked out a library book
or CD from room 200, or, if you took a library book or CD without checking them out, please return them to
Ms. Dobiesz in 201C as soon as possible, no questions asked!
SUMMER WORKSHOP: OCHSA’s summer program will be offering an Acting for the Camera workshop the
last week of June and the first week of July. Taught by OCHSA elective/conservatory teacher Jay Wallace,
this workshop is designed to explore the art of camera acting for both film and television. For details and to
enroll check the OCHSA website under “summer programs”.
SENIOR MEETING: Seniors ~ your attendance is required at a mandatory meeting on Thursday, June 4th
in room 108 during lunch.
FINAL TRANSCRIPTS: Attention Class of 2009! It is time to request your official Final Transcript from
Docufide. Final transcripts will be sent to your designated college through Docufide starting June 19 th but you
must order it now and indicate that you are requesting a transcript that includes your second semester grades.
All colleges expect to have on file your final senior grades prior to your entrance in the fall. The time to do this
GRADUATION REHEARSAL: Seniors are reminded that the first graduation rehearsal is scheduled for next
Wednesday, June 10th from 8:45 am to noon in Symphony Hall. Please put it on your calendar and be on
