                 POSITION: Counselor Assistant
Program Area: Delaware-Morrow                   Supervisor: Clinical Coordinator

Working Hours: Full Time

Essential Functions
Assists certified counselors in the provision of chemical dependency counseling by following
comprehensive care management plan as created by primary clinician (Counselor II or higher).
Provides chemical dependency group counseling, crisis intervention, and chemical dependency
education to youth and families. Provides counseling services and reports client concerns and
problems to certified counselors and the multi- disciplinary treatment team for possible
adjustments to individualized treatment plans/ continuing care plans. Performs program
development and other counseling related activities as needed. Provides case management services
to ensure problems identified in the assessment are resolved or appropriately addressed. Provides
transportation of clients to facilities access to services as identified in the Care Management Plan.
Observes urinalysis collection and completes the required paperwork. Responds to and documents
injuries, emergencies and other non-routine events as needed. Provides ongoing communication
with referral sources as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Must have knowledge of the disease of chemical dependency and twelve-step program. Maturity
and ability to role model healthy interpersonal communication with clients and staff. Associate’s
Degree in Human Services or Behavioral Science with some paid volunteer clinical experience
or internship in the field of chemical dependency treatment, or equivalent.
