3. Version 3.08 Release Description
3.1. KNOWN ISSUES

          I. The editor should only be run where the desktop has been set to small font.

II. If there is no text on the panel buttons, it is possible that the Arial Narrow font failed to install during
set-up. If this happens, copy the „arialn.ttf‟ file in the Aurora installation directory and paste it into the
Fonts sub-directory in the Windows directory (this will install the font).

III. There is a bug in Microsoft Excel 97/2000, which causes selections, consisting entirely of empty cells,
to be written to the clipboard incorrectly. If a block of empty cells are copied from Excel and pasted
back into Excel before being pasted into editor, the clipboard no longer contains a valid selection.

IV. If a dial-up keypad is assigned to a BPX panel, the keypad should be cleared or the key types should
                  be manually changed.

          V. The editor allows keypads to be grouped together to increase the number of available nodes/entry
sequences for a panel. This can be achieved by assigning a number of 'consecutive' keypads. If this
configuration is used, only assign the first keypad defined in the sequence to a panel, and never
assign any subsequent keypads in the sequence to any panel.

VI. The editor will get confused and/or cause errors if you attempt to open and edit multiple child windows
                 at the same time.

VII. If a database that was originally created with the OS/2 editor is uploaded for the first time and it has
undefined keypads in it, before a re-configure is attempted all keypads must be defined to be
something even if it‟s a 1x1 BPX keypad.

Issue No 10 SW-RN-617 Aurora Windows Editor

VIII. When a database is uploaded for the first time, which was originally created with the OS/2 editor, it
must be downloaded back to the controller immediately to get the checksums to match correctly.

IX. The "output monitor follow" UMD type does not allow which of the 8 possible o/p monitor rows to follow
to be selected. It does not even default to the first. Only the matrix/level is selectable the destination is
left unassigned. There is a controller workaround in v1.09c.

        X. Very large databases may require more memory than is available in the Aurora controller. If this is the
case, the database will fail to be transferred to the controller.

XI. When using the „Apply to Higher Numbered Levels‟, specifically „Clever Inhibits‟ on the inhibits grid of
the level window, the inhibits will not be applied to higher numbered levels correctly if the levels differ
in size, i.e. number of sources and/or destinations.

XII. The editor will state that it is still online if a controller disconnection occurs after a database transfer,
but before the “Database transferred” window is closed. This will only happen if the database was
originally reported as corrupt (checksum error).

XIII. The Transmission Path Protect and Level windows may display random names at the bottom end of
the associated destination drop down lists.

3.2. FIXED FUNCTIONALITY

 Keypad Sequences tab. When a matrix is selected on the source or destination list, the correct row is now
          selected.

 Keypad Sequences tab. If the checkbox is checked and a row is selected, the previously selected row is no
longer used to assign the association. The currently selected row is now used.

 Keypad Sequences tab. If the display is changed between 'Show Primary Level' and 'Show Assoc Names',
          sequences tree is now updated.

 Keypad Sequences tab. If two different sources are assigned to a sequence on different matrices, the
name from matrix 1 was displayed (Src Part Entry display) even if matrix 2 selected. The tree was not
updated either when a source was actually assigned to a matrix other than matrix 1 or when changing
between matrices. These issues have been fixed.

 Keypad Sequences tab. If Src Matrices Selected matrix is selected, the name on the tree now updates.

 Keypad Sequences tab. Changing part entry display whilst entering a key sequence now causes the
sequences tree to be updated correctly.

 Calculation of offsets into inhibits and protects bitmaps has been corrected. Inhibits and protects are now
          applied correctly.

 Non-square matrices not accounted for when calculating size and content of inhibit and protect bitmaps
and applying to higher-numbered levels. This has now been corrected.

 Panel ports. Panels are now correctly displayed in multi-drop address order. Panels with an address of 16
assigned could previously appear in the wrong place on the port.

 Panel keypad window. Destination keypad is now displayed correctly for Custom XY (lamps) panels.
Destination keypad no longer appears overlaid on top of the source keypad when the number of source
                                                                                  th
columns is too large (>16). The destination keypad now appears on the 10 row.

 The login window could be made to appear by pressing the Enter key after logging in. This has now been
          fixed.

 When saving a database to a different path, the error “File not found” no longer occurs.

 Right-clicking a tree node on the main window now causes the node to be selected.

 Panel window. Control All Levels now changes between 'Control All Levels' and 'Control NoLevels'.

 Panel window. Control All Levels no longer affects every matrix. It will now operate on the selected matrix
          only.

 Free-format keypads. Assign Next is now disabled when the last item in a source or destination list is
          dragged.

 If an attempt is made to go on-line, and the file open dialog is cancelled, a “This is not a valid database”
          error no longer occurs.

3.3. COMPATIBILITY

This version of editor is compatible with databases created using V2.04 or above of the editor.

The installation includes and requires Aurora.DLL V3.0.5.5.

The installation includes and requires GenRemSC.DLL V2.0.5.3.

3.4. MISCELLANEOUS

To convert a database from the old OS/2 editor to the Windows editor, it is necessary to download the
database into an Aurora / System 3 controller using the OS/2 editors and then up-load it with the Windows
editors. This database must then be downloaded again to the controller otherwise a checksum mismatch
        occurs.

3.5. INSTALLATION

This version requires a version 3.0x license.

Help files are now included in the installation. The help files can be accessed via the Start menu shortcut.

4.2. NEW FUNCTIONALITY

 Drag and drop now allows buttons to be moved. A „Cancel‟ option has also been added to the right-click
popup menu. The default operation of button drag and drop operations is „Move‟.

4.3. FIXED FUNCTIONALITY

 Key name list on keypad window now displays source association names as well.

 Key name list on keypad window displays names of the correct length.

 Copying or swapping keypad buttons now clears the arrow symbol properly.

 When editing destination associations on the Matrix window, destinations outside the tied region on the first
          level are now saved.

 When a different matrix is selected on the keypad window, Assign Next will now select the assigned
          association properly.

 On Global window Salvo tab, when switching back to display by name, matrix names now reappear.

 On Global window Salvo tab, deleting a destination association now no longer clears the destination name.
This prevents a bug occurring which causes a destination association to reappear even when another
association is assigned to the grid.

 When a sequence is started, but no association is assigned, the sequence depth is now reset when the
Keypad window is closed and reopened.

5.1. RELEASE ISSUES

 This is an internal release.

5.2. KNOWN ISSUES

        I. The editor should only be run where the desktop has been set to small font.

II. If there is no text on the panel buttons, it is possible that the Arial Narrow font failed to install during

VII. If a database that was originally created with the OS/2 editor is uploaded for the first time and it has

left unassigned. There is a controller workaround in v1.09c.

        X. Very large databases may require more memory than is available in the Aurora controller. If this is the
case, the database will fail to be transferred to the controller.

XI. When using the „Apply to Higher Numbered Levels‟ or „Clever Inhibits‟ on the inhibits grid of the level
window, the inhibits will not be applied to higher numbered levels correctly if the levels differ in size,
i.e. number of sources and/or destinations.

XII. The editor will state that it is still online if a controller disconnection occurs after a database transfer,
but before the “Database transferred” window is closed. This will only happen if the database was
originally reported as corrupt (checksum error).

XIII. Double-clicking a tree node on the main window may cause a matrix grid to be sorted if the mouse is
positioned over a column when the matrix window appears.

XIV. The Transmission Path Protect and Level windows may display random names at the bottom end of
the associated destination drop down lists.

5.3. FIXED FUNCTIONALITY

 Configurable level buttons and Auto Tally Display options are now available on all 67xx panel types, as well
as the Generic BPX and Generic X-Y (Lamps).

 Wizard source association names and extended panel options are no longer available for System3
          databases.

 Setting level name on level window no longer causes names of all levels to change.

 Panel window no longer displays "Functionality not available in database" when Apply button pressed on
           operation tab.

 Destination soft assign tab is now made invisible when switching panel types.

 Source association names and extended panel options now appear on database configuration window.

 Index is now displayed against destination on Level window drop down list.

 UMD Alt Names grid has been updated. Blank names can no longer be entered. Changes to cells can be
           undone.

 Com port selection window now reselects com port when window is reopened if editor was not closed
           down.

 Various buttons on Global window no longer enable Apply button.

 Index displayed against destination on global window TPP tab.

           Keypad window.

 Key names can now be swapped again on dialup keypads.

 On Keypad window, when dragging a name onto a key and the name is the last on the list, the Assign Next
           button is no longer enabled.

 TPP downstream now uses number of sources instead of destinations.

 When an individual crosspoint is changed on the salvo grid, the new source is now saved.

 When deleting a destination association on the salvo grid, an exception no longer occurs.

 Matrix and level drop down lists on salvo window are now made numeric.

 When an inherited cell is blanked on salvo grid, the cell is now displayed correctly when display mode
          changed.

5.4. COMPATIBILITY

This version of editor is compatible with databases created using V2.04 or above of the editor.

        The installation includes GenRemSC.DLL V2.0.5.3.

5.5. MISCELLANEOUS

To convert a database from the old OS/2 editor to the Windows editor, it is necessary to download the
database into an Aurora / System 3 controller using the OS/2 editors and then up-load it with the Windows
editors. This database must then be downloaded again to the controller otherwise a checksum mismatch
        occurs.

5.6. INSTALLATION

This version requires a version 3.0x license.

6. Version 3.05 Release Description
6.1. RELEASE ISSUES

 This is an internal release.

XI. Source association names, configurable level buttons, and auto tally display options should not be
used with System 3 format databases.

XII. The database name will be truncated to 16 characters.

6.3. NEW FUNCTIONALITY

 Source associations can now be named.

 Level buttons on relevant panels are now configurable, allowing multiple levels to be assigned to a button.

 Panels can now be configured to allow automatic display of tallies for the first valid destination in an
           association.

 Buttons can now be dragged and dropped onto other buttons on BPX type keypads. This allows buttons to
           be copied or swapped.

 Source names, source association names, destination association names, and UMD alternative names can
now be alphanumerically sorted by clicking the column headings. This applies to Matrix and Keypad
           windows.

 Login window now uses drop-down list to allow quick selection of previously entered users.

 A user can be configured to automatically login.

 Com port control lines are now configurable.

 Font and button sizes have now been increased for normal keypads.

 When scrolling keypads, the keypad now moves as the scrollbar is dragged.

 Editor now checks for existence of required DLLs and version numbers.

 Source name list has been added to salvo editor.

 An option to enter a license has been added. This allows the current license to be updated without
              reinstalling the editor.

6.4. FIXED FUNCTIONALITY

 It is now possible to double-click a grid cell to edit that cell.

 Correct warning message is now displayed when changing the number of keys in the wizard.

 If invalid values are entered into the wizard, related settings are no longer updated, thus preventing strange
            behaviour.

 6237 and 6276 output monitoring panels no longer have Display Name box on Advanced tab and so do not
           have an Advanced tab.

 Audio params box buttons on level window should be disabled.

 Confirmation is now requested when salvos have been changed and attempt is made to change tab or
open another salvo or pressing OK.

 Save button is now disabled when salvo has been saved. The Apply button also allows the salvo to be
           saved.

 If destination associations are removed or modified, associated crosspoints will now appear in the salvo
editor. A destination name will appear in the left hand column postfixed with an asterisk.

 When a source name is entered into the salvo grid, either via dragging a source name or pasting a source
name, the source name is now searched for, and if not found the source number is searched for, and if not
found the cell will be blanked if it is inherited.

 Salvo inherit functionality has been fixed.

 Source association name list on salvo editor no longer displays associations with no sources configured.

 Salvo editor list names are now prefixed with name index.

 On the salvo editor, the DLL would return error when the number of allocated crosspoints were all used and
the salvo saved twice. This has been fixed.

 Crosspoints can now be deleted from salvos.

 Tie-line tab on global window no longer causes warning message if no fields have been changed.

         Cue editor labelling corrected.

 On the cue editor, the correct number of sources and destination associations are now used.

 On keypad entry sequences, when using second right mouse button click to change node name, the Apply
           button is now enabled.

 When reconfiguring a database, BPX button assignments are no longer deleted.

 On reconfigure wizard, there is now enough space to fit text in accordance with higher number ranges.

 Database read (upload) changed to read all data from controller before writing to file. No file operations
done until data uploaded thus preventing possible corruption of curr_sys.aur.

 Possible checksum problem fix that could occur if odd no of panels defined in database and source or
           destination LCD Groups enabled.

 Fix to allow databases to have max no matrices (20) and max no of panels (500).

 An access violation no longer occurs on salvos window when another salvo is opened.

 If tieline names are edited from the main tieline screen it no longer allows names longer than 16 characters
            to be entered.

 Dragging from lists with no selection no longer causes "out of bounds" error.

 When editing free-form keypads, changing tabs now asks for confirmation of changes.

 The port to matrix table on the matrix window now displays the actual level names.

 On source name window, if the grid scrolls when a cell is double-clicked to be edited, the edit box would
appear in the wrong location. This has been fixed.

 On source name and destination association tabs, null names or names consisting entirely of spaces can
           no longer be entered.

 On panel window, when setting destination preselect > 20, the setting would be reset to unused when
           panel re-opened.

 Drag/drop cursor would be wrong when keypad access is read only and group dragged on. This has been
           fixed.

 When apply data confirmation is displayed on keypad window, controls are now longer updated if changes
          are cancelled.

         On UMD window, the „D.Follow Single/Dual(4-ch Fixed + 4-ch Source)' types, 'S.Follow Single/Dual(4-ch
Fixed + 4-ch Source)' types, and 'S.Follow' types are now saved to the database correctly.

 Free-form keypad 'Clear' now asks for confirmation.

 Assign Next on group keypad will now disable assign next button when last item is reached.

 One to one no longer includes unused group on group keypads.

 Assign Next would go wrong if matrix drop-down changed. Assign Next is now disabled whenever any
setting is changed that would make it behave unexpectedly.

 'Keypad mismatch' caused when copying keypads if number of nodes is different. Editor now checks the
           number of nodes.

 Assign Next now behaves as if the next item has been dragged from list on free-form keypads, i.e.
associations are now all be cleared.

 A warning is now displayed if an attempt is made to drag a destination association onto the salvo grid if a
destination in that association is already used in the grid.

 On the wizard, the editor would add a comma to the source association value and then not accept it.
           Commas are no longer added.

 On salvo editor, switching to numeric display now display everything numerically.

 The com port selection dialog is now sorted alphabetically.

 The selected com port is now reselected when the com port selection window is redisplayed.

must be downloaded back to the controller immediately to get the checksums to match correctly.

IX. When an attempt to read a database fails the Aurora DLL may not close the file. In this case, the editor
may need to be restarted to open a database.

        X. On panels that provide a Master Panel option, this option cannot be disabled once it has been
                enabled.

7.2. FIXED FUNCTIONALITY

 The editor will now use a default of 38400 baud for the com port settings.

 The serial port control lines are now initialised correctly. This will allow computers, which could not
previously connect to Aurora, to connect to Aurora properly. This was fixed in V2.04 of the
           GenRemSC.DLL.

 A warning is no longer displayed if a panel multi-drop address is valid when pressing the Apply button in
           the panel window.

 A “control not visible” error is no longer displayed on the panel window when pressing the Apply button.

 XY controlled destination records are now allocated for all matrices for existing panels and written to the
           database correctly.

 Delegate control records are now allocated for all matrices and are written to the database correctly.

 Blank entries are now accepted on the Matrix window Source Associations tab when in numerical mode.

 Captions have been changed to read „Apply to higher numbered levels‟ for consistency.

 If „Apply to higher numbered levels‟ is selected on the Matrix window Source Names tab, the source names
will be applied to higher numbered levels when names are pasted into the grid.

 On Source Names, Source Associations, and Destination Associations tabs, when a selection is pasted
into more than one level, the right-most cell of the selection will be applied or inherited across levels, when
the „Apply source names to higher numbered levels‟ or „Inherit‟ options are enabled respectively.

 On Source Names tab, entering a name that is longer than the maximum valid length will now result in a
           warning message.

 The „Convert to Aurora format‟ option will now only be enabled for System 3 format databases when using
           an Aurora type license.

 The Online option is now disabled if the respective privilege is disabled.

 The Print All option is now only enabled when a database is open.

 The „Save As‟ and „Reconfigure‟ options are now disabled when an attempt to read a database fails.

 Changing the tie line search depth on the Global window Tie line tab will now enable the Apply button.

 Take Names are now re-read from the database when changing between panel types.

 When assigning the maximum number of matrices, the last matrix and associated level names are now
          correct.

 The About box will now state that a DLL has not been loaded if it could not be found. Also, an error window
will be displayed when the editor starts up if this is the case.

7.3. CHANGED FUNCTIONALITY

 On the Matrix window Source and Destination Associations tabs, the inherit options required the ALT key to
be held down in order to inherit associations when moving the selected cell up or down.

7.4. COMPATIBILITY

This version of editor is compatible with databases created using V2.04 or above of the editor.

 „Status Display‟ option added to database configuration wizard to provide automatic status display
configuration. Click the „Status Display‟ checkbox for details.

 A cell can be copied and pasted into multiple cells at once.

 If a database saved in an editor prior to V3.01 is loaded, the database will be converted to the new format
whilst the original database will be saved with an „.OLD‟ extension. The new format is as a result of the
increase to the maximum number of sources, destinations, source and destination associations, panels,
and UMDs. The new format database cannot be opened by an older version of editor.

 Com port settings are now remembered between sessions.

 KEYPAD MISMATCH error added. This is now displayed instead of the „Unrecognised Error code
              536870949‟ being displayed.

 Aurora Editor application icon updated.

 „About‟ window updated. New license details displayed.

 Salvo BPX keys are now pale fuchsia.

 „F2‟ will edit a cell, „Esc‟ will revert cell to original contents if in edit mode.

 Level name can now be changed from the Level window.

 „UMD Configuration Error‟ message added. This can occur when a database originally created with the
OS/2 based SYSTEM3 editor is uploaded into the Aurora editor from a controller that has the number of
UMDs set different to the number of Fixed UMD Messages. In the Aurora editor the said fields are always
the same. If this error happens the database will need to be reconfigured using the OS/2 SYSTEM3 editor
to make the two fields the same, downloaded to the controller using the OS/2 SYSTEM3 editor and then
              uploaded using the Aurora Editor.

8.3. REMOVED FUNCTIONALITY

 Editing of source and destination video and audio parameters has been removed. These functions are not
possible from the editor, only from control panels or the remote control ports on the Aurora controller.

8.4. CHANGED FUNCTIONALITY

          The „6706 48 source BPX + breakaway‟ and „6706 Dual 24 source BPX + breakaway‟ panel types now
uses a 24x2 instead of 32x2 keypad. Previously created databases will need to be changed to allocate a
new keypad to these types of panels. Also V1.08 Aurora Controller firmware is required in the controller.

 UMD type names have been updated. This was to aid configuring UMDs. Extra prompts have been added
especially for configuring single 8 character UMD types.

8.5. FIXED FUNCTIONALITY

8.5.1. MAIN WINDOW

 „Logout‟ option no longer displays “This is not a valid database”.

 Main window level type icons have been corrected.

 Multi-drop address is reset to „unassigned‟ if dragged from port back to storeroom.

 When a connection is cancelled, „Reconfigure‟ option is only enabled if correct privileges are held.

 „Save As‟ and „Reconfigure‟ options are no longer enabled when attempt to go on-line fails.

 The editor will now always use „curr_sys.aur‟ as the current on-line database. Previously, any file
containing the text „curr_sys‟ would be used, e.g. „Copy of curr_sys.aur‟.

8.5.2. CONTROLLER COMMUNICATIONS

 “Invalid data in DLL function call” error no longer displayed when attempting to go on-line and no controller
              is connected.

 Communications errors no longer occur after three or more uploads/downloads.

 Database can now be download to the controller if no database exists in the controller.

 Downloading/uploading/online changes of auto protects have been speeded up.

 Com port selection will now appear even if Windows Administrator rights are not granted.

 Editor now goes off-line if communications with controller is lost.

 No longer get a „Database mismatch‟ error if the user goes on-line, performs and upload/download then
              goes off-line and back on-line.

 When reconfiguring a database, a confirmation dialog will be displayed if the name of the currently open
              database is used.

 If a file needs to be opened when attempting to go on-line, the editor will load the file and now carry on
              trying to go on-line.

 If an attempt to read a database from the controller fails, the currently open database is now closed.

8.5.3. WIZARD

 When creating a new database or reconfiguring a database, the wizard now always uses default (for
create) or old database (for reconfigure) values when the „Next‟ button is pressed instead of using the
              previous page setting.

 Wizard database configuration options that are deselected are now saved correctly when reconfiguring a
              database.

 If a database is created and the name of that database is the same as the name of an existing and
currently used file (by another application), the editor now behaves correctly.

8.5.4. GLOBAL WINDOW

 All relevant destination associations are now shown in the Salvo tab list.

 Salvos are now cleared correctly.

 When a name is entered for a consecutive keypad that is less than six characters, the name is padded
              with underscores.

 Salvos are now stored correctly so that they can be recalled from panels on the system correctly.

 Keypad sequences are no longer cleared and keypad types are no longer changed when the first keypad
in a chain of consecutive keypads is renamed.

 „Clear‟ button on Global/Keypad tab is now disabled for keypads that are assigned to panels.

 A blank keypad name (which consists of no characters, even spaces) is no longer accepted as a keypad
name. A keypad name must contain at least one character.

 All generic panel types now have configurable keypad sizes.

8.5.5. LEVEL WINDOW

 When „Apply to lower levels‟ is selected for route inhibits, data is now only applied to the number of levels
for that matrix instead of the maximum number of matrices. This prevents database corruption.

 The inhibits and auto protects are now written to the database correctly when the number of sources on
              level/ 8 * number of destinations on level > 65535.

8.5.6. MATRIX WINDOW

 Copy and paste of source names on Source Names grid has been corrected.

 When the privileges for Matrix settings are set to read-only, cell contents can no longer be edited via the
              keyboard.

 Pasting into Destination Associations grid has been corrected, and no longer causes an access violation.

 When copying names from Microsoft Notepad into the editor, the correct number of cells are pasted.

 „Apply‟ button is now enabled when a level 1 destination association is edited, and that association
number is greater than the number of destinations for level 1.

 On-line edits of 12 character destination association names now work correctly.

8.5.7. KEYPAD WINDOW

 Key types saved for BPX keypads.

 Special keys on keypads now display both lines of text when displayed via a panel.

 When an existing keypad is read, the number of nodes in use is updated correctly.

 Auto-sequence no longer creates more than the maximum number of nodes.

 When a keypad is applied, an error is no longer displayed which states that the number of nodes has run
out, even if this is not the case.

 Small online changes to keypad entry sequences would take a long time to download to the controller.
              This has been corrected.

 Online changes to keypad entry sequence data improved. Previously it was slow and could get corrupted.

 On all panels with a dial-up source keypad and virtual destination keypad, the destination list is no longer
enabled when the source keypad is displayed.

 It is no longer possible to „Auto Sequence‟ on a BPX keypad.

 The error message „No multi-output record‟ is no longer displayed when editing panels or keypads.

 On the keypad „Key Sequences‟ tab, if an attempt is made to rename the „Key Sequences‟ node is made,
and the Display radio group is not set to „Key Presses‟, an exception no longer occurs.

 On the keypad window, the „Blank‟ menu option is no longer permanently disabled when „Clear‟ key is
              assigned.

 All relevent „Clear‟ key type menu options are now enabled.

 On dial-up keypads, two or more consecutive „mnemonic‟ keys can be dialled.

 „Normal‟ key type is no longer available on „Mnemonic‟ keypads.

 It is no longer possible to assign/modify key types on dial-up keypads if the „Sequences‟ tab is selected.

 When special key types are blanked on mnemonic keypads, the keys are now set to mnemonic by default.

 When a „button per‟ destination key is blanked, the matrix is now unassigned. This prevents some
              unpredictable results from occurring.

8.5.8. PANEL WINDOW

 On 6237 and 6276 Output Monitoring Panels „Destination Keys‟ tab, the destination now reads „Monitor
Dest‟, and the monitor destination should range from 1 to 8 or „Unused‟.

 Enabling „Dest Soft Assign‟ functionality on panel types no longer causes editor to close.

 Multi-drop address no longer cycles if held down on panel window.

 When assigning a panel to an internal status display device, the Apply button is enabled.

 The correct number of overrides are now displayed for all panel types.

 The „KeySwitch‟ option is now enabled/disabled correctly according to panel type.

 The 6290 VF Lines Panel window has been corrected.

 Drop-down lists on panel window now display „Unused‟ instead of blank space. Non-configurable drop-
down lists are no longer displayed as drop-down lists.

 Generic X-Y 8791 panel keypads can now be configured without access violations occurring.

 For the relevant panel types, the suite number, number of output destinations, and cue input/output base
number fields are now initialised correctly. In addition, the cue input Internal/External flag is now initialised
              correctly.

8.5.9. UMD WINDOW

 When UMD type is changed, the correct fields are displayed.

 UMD types can now be unassigned properly.

8.5.10. GENERAL

 Various range-checking fixes have been applied to the editor.

8.6. COMPATIBILITY

This version of editor is compatible with databases created using V2.04 of the editor.

Due to the increases in some of the maximum size limits, the format of databases created/loaded with this
editor is different to previous versions. This version of editor will automatically convert databases created with
V2.02V2.03/V2.04 versions of the editor into the new format when loaded. A copy of the old file is saved with a

„.OLD‟ file extension. Once a database has been loaded by this version of editor it cannot be loaded by
        previous versions of editor.

8.7. CONFIGURATION

Due to the change in keypad shape/size used for the „6706 48 source BPX + breakaway‟ and „6706 Dual 24
source BPX + breakaway‟ panel types, these panel types will need their keypads re-assigned and configured.

8.8. MISCELLANEOUS

To convert a database from the old OS/2 editor to the Windows editor, it is necessary to download the
database into an Aurora / System 3 controller using the OS/2 editors and then up-load it with the Windows
editors. This database must then be downloaded again to the controller otherwise a checksum mismatch
        occurs.

9. V2.04 Release Description
9.1. KNOWN ISSUES

        I. The editor should only be run where the desktop has been set to small font.

II. This release does not include the DestMatch functionality.

III. If there is no text on the panel buttons, it is possible that the Arial Narrow font failed to install during
set-up. If this happens, copy the arialn.ttf file in the Aurora installation directory and paste it into the
Fonts sub-directory in the Windows directory (this will install the font).

IV. The Soft Key Monitors option for master control type panels is not included.

        V. The data displayed on the „Destination Tab‟ for panels of type 6237 and the 6276 Output Monitoring
Panel is incorrect. Destinations are displayed rather than monitor destinations (1 to 8), however the
correct functionality can be achieved by using the first 8 destinations as thought they were the monitor
                destinations.

9.2. INSTALLATION NOTES/DESCRIPTION

It is recommended that the editor is used on a PC with a minimum specification of 600mHz and128 RAM,
running Windows 95, 98, NT or 2000. While the editor will run on machines of lower specification, read/ apply
and on line changes may take a long time when working with large databases.
To install the Aurora Editors, run the setup.exe file on the CD (or disk), and follow the on-screen instructions.
Enter your license number and key when prompted.
The editor requires the following versions of the DLLs:

         Aurora.dll – database access DLL, version 2.04 (build 2.4.0.13)

         GenRem.dll - General Remote Communications DLL, version 1.06 (build 1.6.0.2)

         FreAux.dll – User access privileges DLL, version 1.0 (build 1.0.0.6)

        Other files installed:

 Arialn.ttf – Arial Narrow True Type font

         Example databases, CURR_SYS.AUR and Aurora Demo.AUR

 Comctl32.dll is updated if an old version is detected (necessary to display the tree views)

9.3. FAULTS FIXED

The following faults have been fixed :

 Ensure that a multi-drop address can only be used once.

 Ensure the correct no of nodes can be created when 2 keypads that are overlayed

 The number of overrides for 6700 series panels was changed to 8 instead of 16.

 The destination assign fault for panels of type 6277-2 has been fixed.

 If a database is loaded (bigger than database currently in controller), and then you go ON-LINE, the
            database may become corrupt.

 In the salvo menu the automatically generated salvo numbers have only two digits, so salvos higher than
           99 had the same name.

 On a BPX keypad, the destinations are not updated if the matrix is changed

 The editor writes the wrong brightness values.

 Allow destinations allocated to a UMD to be cleared.

 Ensure that the data displayed in the right hand pane when the editor is run in full screen mode is formatted
           correctly.

 Add the Tieline option under the Global node on the tree in the left hand pane.

 Fault fixed with the "SAFE SOURCE" assignment when change individually online corrupting the controller
database and also when a complete download (APPLY) is done the “SAFE SOURCE” is downloaded
           correctly.

 When entering tielines (upstream dest) the names for special associations could not be selected. Only
names for the size of the first level could be selected.

 Fault fixed so that the destination for preset function works.

         6709 8-source split BPX should display 8x2 keypad.

 Joystick Override settings become hidden in the Editor, which is to say that after entering source overrides
and clicking Apply, when re-entering Override screen via tab the settings seem to have 'disappeared'.

 SALVOs on Dial Up keypads - On "Selection by normal key sequence" keypad types, you can enter them
but they were not saved to the database.

 Stop the tie line form from using the no of dests for a level to determine how many sources to display

 Error no longer reported when printing key sequences.

 When adding a source on the salvo table ensure the sources are determined from the source associations.

 The salvos are stored as absolute crosspoints so there has to be a destination to be able to store it. You
should not be allowed to enter a source where there is no destination.

 If you go online, and there is a checksum mismatch, and the user selects No, No, to the upload/download
queries, the DLL thinks it is still online, and all changes are sent to the frame, even though the databases
            could be very different.

 When reconfiguring and creating a database, if a matrix has 16 levels, the 16th level does not have a
default name, instead it is blank.

 An error was reported when changing from numeric to names on the source assoc form with 16 levels.

 Fault fixed to stop access violation when saving UMD data.

 On a BPX style dest keypad (may be source as well), if the first matrix is not selected and "Assign Next" is
pressed, the matrix box showed the name for matrix 1 instead of the matrix currently selected.

 Fault fixed to allow source associations for matrices with more levels than the first matrix to be edited.

 Fault fixed to make sure keypad display size value is converted correctly between the PC database and the
           controller database.

 Fault fixed in clear keypad function to make sure keypad name is initialised correctly.

        The above are covered by STFs 1395, 1396, 1401, 1403a, 1404, 1405, 1406, 1420, 1460, 1465

 Allow TPP definitions to be cleared

 A warning is displayed if a keypad that is used by more than one panel is edited from the panel form.

 Allow keypads that are assigned to a panel to be renamed.

 A warning is displayed if the 'to' keypad is in use when copying keypads.

         Added SYSTEM3 license types.

 Controller reset option has been added, which will be available when the user is online.

 Check that when defining consecutive keypads they do not overwrite keypads that are in use.

 Allow level names to be defined in the wizard

 After "apply configuration" has finished the controller now resets itself automatically.

 The 'tie line tracing' option was added to the UMD configuration form

 Turn off “safe source” option added.

 Add 4 character names to keypads.

9.5. CHANGED FUNCTIONALITY

 Added an extra column in the keypad form to display the no of keys

 When a panel that has been removed from a port is returned to the port, the original address should be
          reused where appropriate.

 Before starting a download, display an 'are you sure message'

 Added the option 'unused' to panel and UMD type lists, this will allow them to be cleared.

 Changed the keypad default size to 1x1.

 Add the reset functionality for destination associations, matrix port configuration, Tielines, TPPs and Cues,
so that the reset is performed when the user leaves the global form

 A check has been added to prevent incorrect ordering of keys of type MNEMONIC, NUMERIC or ENDER
           in a keypad sequence.

 Make the sequence window on the keypad form wider

 Change the keypad definition for panel type genericXY so that it can display up to 16 columns

 The addition/removal of the ALT DEST key type on a keypad enables/disables the alt dests keys.

 Update the database files properties to show the modified date and not the creation date.

 Custom XY (lamps) panel type. This panel has been changed to accept a source keypad and a destination
keypad of any size and shape (up to max allowed keypad size for system) (same as OS/2 editor).

 Generic Multi-Level Single Bus panel type. This panel should be treated like 6276 Single Bus type panels.

9.6. REMOVED FUNCTIONALITY

 Removed the matrix ports from the tree, however they are still in the wizard and configuration form.

 Remove the number of general remote ports.

 Remove the restriction forcing tie line names to be different

9.7. COMPATIBILITY

This version of editor is compatible with databases created using V2.03 of the editor.

9.8. CONFIGURATION

The first time the Aurora Editor is run after a new install, there is only one user configured. This user is the
“Administrator” and has no default password. It is recommended the password is changed immediately, and
that the Administrator adds the relevant users with the relevant privileges.

9.9. MISCELLANEOUS

To convert a database from the old OS/2 editor to the Windows editor, it is necessary to download the
database into an Aurora / System 3 controller using the OS/2 editors and then up-load it with the Windows
editors. This database must then be downloaded again to the controller otherwise a checksum mismatch
        occurs.

10. V2.03 Release Description
10.1. KNOWN ISSUES

        I. The editor should only be run where the desktop has been set to small font.

II. The LCD panels can be defined in the editor. These require V1.07 or above release of the AURORA
controller firmware. Other functionality for these panels will be added in future releases.

III. This release does not include the DestMatch functionality.

IV. This release does not include the Transmission Path Protects functionality.

        V. If there is no text on the panel buttons, it is possible that the Arial Narrow font failed to install during
set-up. If this happens, copy the arialn.ttf file in the Aurora installation directory and paste it into the
Fonts sub-directory in the Windows directory (this will install the font).

VI. The Soft Key Monitors option for master control type panels is not included.

VII. The MNEMONIC/NUMERIC/ENDER keypad operation is not implemented as the old OS/2 based
                SYSTEM3 editor.

VIII. The SYSTEM Controller will only reset on a complete database download (APPLY). It does not
automatically reset when individual parts of the database are changed (e.g. Destination Associations,
Port to Matrix assignments, Tielines) as the OS/2 SYSTEM3 editor.

10.2. INSTALLATION NOTES/DESCRIPTION

It is recommended that the editor is used on a PC with a minimum specification of 600mHz and128 RAM,
running Windows 95 or NT or 2000.

         Aurora.dll – database access DLL, version 2.03 (build 2.3.0.3)

         GenRem.dll - General Remote Communications DLL, version 1.06 (build 1.6.0.2)

         FreAux.dll – User access privileges DLL, version 1.0 (build 1.0.0.6)

        Other files installed:

 Arialn.ttf – Arial Narrow True Type font

         Example databases, CURR_SYS.AUR and Aurora Demo.AUR

 Comctl32.dll is updated if an old version is detected (necessary to display the tree views)

10.3. FAULTS FIXED

The following faults have been fixed (no STFs):

 If keypads were defined for 6236 panels they were set to BPX style keypads instead of dial-up style
            keypads.

 The park source can now be unassigned using the “unused” option. Also the park source can now be
           associated with any other source.

 The LCD panel‟s keypad size was increased (now 4 rows of 16) and the number of destinations assignable
           were increased to 16.

The following faults have been fixed (with STFs):

 STF-1397 – When two keypads are shown at the same time, it is now possible to set a CLEAR button on
           both keypads.

 STF-1398 - If a keypad is cleared, the list of keypads is now updated to show a default size.

 STF-1399 – The editor now checks the number of nodes created on a keypad and will warn the user if the
number of nodes has been exceeded.

 STF-1399 – Sequence nodes for 6236 X-Y panels are now displayed correctly.

 STF-1400/STF-1425 – The editor now checks that the SYSTEM Controller has enough memory for the
           database before a download.

 STF-1426 Item1 – Keypad entry sequences now not lost if an edit is performed after a database upload
           (READ).

 STF-1426 Item 2 – When a key has only an upper name, its positioning on the key (top/centre) is now
           consistent.

 STF-1426 Item 3 – Sometimes accessing the keypads may cause the editor to lock up after reconfiguring
           the database.

 STF-1426 Item 4 – If a key was allocated a special type and its key name was re-used on another key, the
           name would vanish.

 STF-1426 Item 5 – If a keypad is cleared and then the database is reloaded, it will fail with a corruption
           error.

 STF-1427 – The editor can now handle large databases.

10.4. NEW FUNCTIONALITY

 STF-1416 – Park mode (AUTO/MANUAL) can now be set on the matrix form.

10.5. COMPATIBILITY

Any existing Aurora databases created by V2.01 and below of the editor cannot be accessed directly using
this version of the editor. In order to access the data using the latest Aurora editor the following steps must be
        performed:

 Run the previous Aurora editor and open the required database.

 Download the database into the Controller and close the editor.

 Start the new Aurora editor and upload the data from the controller, this data can now be stored in the
           correct format.

Databases created using V2.02 and above of the editor are directly compatible with this version.

10.6. CONFIGURATION

The first time the Aurora Editor is run after a new install, there is only one user configured. This user is the
“Administrator” and has no default password. It is recommended the password is changed immediately, and

11. V2.02 Release Description
11.1. KNOWN ISSUES

        I. The editor should only be run where the desktop has been set to small font.

II. The LCD panels can be defined in the editor, however the advanced keypad functionality for these
                panels has not been released.

11.2. INSTALLATION NOTES/DESCRIPTION

It is recommended that the editor is used on a PC with a minimum specification of 600MHz and128 RAM,
running Windows 95 or NT or 2000. While the editor will run on machines of lower specification, read/ apply

To install the Aurora Editors, run the setup.exe file on the CD (or disk), and follow the on-screen instructions.
Enter your license number and key when prompted.
The editor requires the following versions of the DLLs:

         Aurora.dll – database access DLL, version 2.02 (build 2.2.0.6)

         GenRem.dll - General Remote Communications DLL, version 1.05 (build 1.5.0.4)

         FreAux.dll – User access privileges DLL, version 1.0 (build 1.0.0.6)

        Other files installed:

 Arialn.ttf – Arial Narrow True Type font

         Example databases, CURR_SYS.AUR and Aurora Demo.AUR

 Comctl32.dll is updated if an old version is detected (necessary to display the tree views)

11.3. FAULTS FIXED

The following faults have been fixed (no STFs):

 The error "Limit index out of bounds" may occur when reading the first keypad if the number of sources
           exceeds the number of destinations.

 Remove 'display name (4/8 char)' option for 6276 single output panels.

 Status Display device panel type - the 525/625 option was missing - default 625.

 Cannot clear tie line definitions.

 Panels with overrides startup with all levels set for control, but these levels cannot be seen on override
page drop down lists. If either the control all levels button is pressed, or deselect the levels and reselect
           them, they are all available.

 Allow sources and destinations to be assigned to keys of type Mnemonic/Numeric/Ender which are part of
           a sequence

 If levels 1-3 have are 128x128 and level 4 is 64x64, an error message is reported when doing 1to1 on level
3 with destinations greater than 64

 When an X-Y panel is configured in the database, only the first matrix gets a destination control record
allocated, the records for the other matrices are allocated as the data is edited for each matrix.

The following other faults were fixed within the AURORA.DLL (no STFs):

 Adding panels to database without assigning destinations. Fault fixed to stop the same destination
controlled record being assigned to several panels. If several panels (that have joystick override facility)
are added to the database without editing any keypads, then when the first panel in that group of added
panels has its keypads edited then all the other panels end up with the same destination controlled record,
thus if any of these panels then have their destinations controlled changed then all these panels follow
           each other.

 Reconfigure Database – Panel data. Fault fixed to stop databases originally created using the old OS/2
editor that have been reconfigured using the AURORA editor/DLL from copying the wrong panel data from
the old database. It could also cause the reconfigure to fail. The OS/2 editor used a different algorithm for
calculating offsets to the data and the DLL did not allow for this.

 Reconfigure Database – Matrix Port Data. Fault fixed so that the matrix port data from the old database
was copied correctly. Previously it would only copy the data for matrix 1 level 1. The rest would be left at
the default for a new database.

 Create New Database – Matrix Port Data. Fault fixed to stop an invalid set-up for the default matrix port
data. It now only initialises each port being used once and after that the rest of the matrix port settings left
un-assigned. Previously it could allocate the last matrix port with overlapping destination ranges that are
           not valid.

 X-Y type panel Overwrite destination control record pointer for matrix 1. Fault fixed to stop a panel that had
been previously defined as a non X-Y panel that had now been defined as an X-Y panel from having the
pointer to matrix 1‟s destination control data from being overwritten when online edits were performed.

 Upload/Download Database – Panel data. Fault fixed to stop wrong panel data (pointers to destinations
controlled) from being set up when performing an upload or download. This was due to a lookup table
having the wrong panel types in it.

11.4. NEW FUNCTIONALITY

 The Destination Soft Assign (STF-1094) functionality has been added. (See SW-SF-394 for further details).

11.5. COMPATIBILITY

Any existing Aurora databases produced by previous versions of the editor cannot be accessed directly using
this version of the editor.
