                                       IMPORTANT NOTICE
All competitors who qualify to compete at any of the evening performances, must complete their
qualification slip from the class and return it to the secretary before the office closes for the day
   Failure to do so, may mean you will not be allowed to compete in the evening performance

                     The schedule displayed is for information purposes only.
Classes WILL NOT be changed by criteria or day, please be aware that Midarc Ltd. reserves the
        right to make time changes, these will be advised with at least 1 hours notice.
         It is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure they are aware of these changes

                  More accurate class timings will be available on the web site
                           from 5pm on Monday 22nd August 2011

       Dressage Times and Showjumping drawn orders will be available on the web site
                           from 5pm on Tuesday 23rd August

It is the responsibility of the competitors to ensure that they are eligible for the classes they are
           entering, the Midarc 2011 rules are applicable at the National Championships

                         Ages of Riders are taken as from 1st April 2011

                  Ages of Horses and Ponies are taken as from 1st April 2011
            WHAT HAVE I QUALIFIED FOR AND WHAT CAN I ENTER?
We have changed the way you qualify for 2011, you will find that we have allocated you into groups
of classes, and you may enter any of those classes within that group providing you are eligible. If
you wish to enter another class in another group, then you must qualify for that group as well.

Each class number will be followed a group reference in brackets, this will tell you which classes are
available to you

RIDDEN AND RIDING HORSE OR PONY
The difference between the Riding Horse or Pony and Ridden Horse or Pony is as follows:
Riding Pony and Horse are judged on performance, conformation and show
Ridden Pony or Horse is judged on suitability, manners and show, knocks and blemishes should not
be taken into account

NOTES
There is a Novice Ring and Championship on Monday 29th August, you may enter these if you are
eligible

AWARDS

Trophies to all class winners       Rosettes to 6th place in all Championship Classes

Sashes to the winners of all Section Champions, plus prize money to the Champion & Reserve

Perpetual Challenge Trophies to the winners of section championships

Finalist Rosettes to all unplaced riders – please take your competitor number to the secretary’s
office when you have finished competing to collect your rosette
                                       FOOD AND DRINK
The Hayrack café which is located next door to the Shearwater Insurances Indoor Arena will be
open as follows for Hot and Cold Food, a bar will also be available
Friday 5pm – 10.00pm            Saturday & Sunday 5pm – midnight          Monday 5pm – 9pm

   There will be entertainment on Saturday & Sunday night from approx 10.00pm until midnight

                                    SHOWFIELD CATERING
The main catering area will be open from 7.00am (for cooked and healthy breakfasts) until 5.00pm.
         They will be serving a selection of lunchtime meals and snacks during the day

                        RODBASTON VISITOR AND ANIMAL CENTRE
   Open during the day for light snacks, an ideal place for younger children to spend some time
                         looking round this excellent small animal centre

               The Spead Eagle at Gailey island, approx 100 yards from Rodbaston
                              Full Menu and an excellent carvery

                         Mcdonalds at Cannock – approx 10 minutes away

                                       BLACKSMITH ON SITE
 A Blacksmith will be in attendance Saturday, Sunday & Monday from approximately 8.30am each
    morning, a charge is made for this service which is included within the supplement charged
 for First Aid. This charge will cover you for refitting shoes etc, but if you have to have new shoes
                made and fitted, then you will be responsible for any charges incurred.

                                    VETERINARY SERVICES
We do not have a Vet on site, but one is on call and should be able to respond within 1 hour from a
 request being made, any costs incurred are the responsibility of the competitor and / or owner

                                               SECURITY
        Security is on site, but ultimate responsibility for saddlery and all other items is that
                                     of the competitor and or owner

Following is your personal Rider number - which should be used at all times - and a list of classes
qualified for. If there are any discrepancies please let us know as soon as possible.

If you have qualified for a class that has been split we do rely on you to enter the correct class. If we
have got the Class wrong that you have qualified for (not all clubs word their schedules the same),
then please feel free to correct your entry, but please make a note to say that you have done so.

Riders will be expected to jump a small fence (approx 2’3”) in their ridden show

Competitors are required to give a short show consisting of the following elements:

     Three loop serpentine in trot                          20m circle in canter
     Medium trot across the diagonal                        Free walk on a long rein
     Canter to include a change of rein with trot through X
     5 second halt

The above core elements may be performed in any order, however, in instances where the
competitor performs the same element twice they will only be marked on the first attempt. Each
element carries a maximum of 10 marks. Upon completion of the competitor’s individual show,
marks will then be awarded out of 30 for conformation and out of 20 for the riders style.

This competition will run from 10.00am until 12.00pm.
Competitors may compete at any time during those hours in order that they may fit into this class
around other class commitments.
Preliminary positions will be announced at 12.30pm.
The top 6 will then go forward to the Final at the Sunday Evening Performance where they will
perform the same 6 elements.

We invite competitors to compete in pairs, to show the elegance of a bygone Edwardian age, when
gentleman hacked out in the park with their ladies riding sidesaddle alongside them. Each pair will
be expected to perform a very simple show lasting approx 1 minute
Entry is free to this Class, and there will be suitable prizes to match the occasion
Entries should be made by the closing date, Thursday 18th August

the Secretary’s Office in order that the commentary team have all the correct information

CLASS 74            NATIONAL SHOWJUMPING MASTERS – WINNER TAKES ALL

GUARANTEED PRIZE FUND OF £150

This class is run over 6-8 fences, starting at 3’3”. Each rider, on entering the ring nominates a fence
to be raised. If the rider jumps clear the next rider enters the arena. If, however the nominating rider
does not jump clear then the fence is lowered and the rider is eliminated. The winner is the last
rider left in the competition having jumped clear.

 We strongly recommend that you book your stable early. If you have more than one horse we will
  do our best to stable them near to each other. Most stables will be provided with straw prior to
 arrival unless shavings are stated in which case the stable will be left empty as shavings are not
    provided, Extra straw can be purchased by stating your requirements on the form opposite.
                          Mucking out tools are not provided by MIDARC.

  Access to the stables on Friday 26th August will be permitted between 2pm – 9pm. Any horses
 arriving during the evening must be on the show ground by 9pm each day. When arriving please
contact Dawn Hoffman on 07951958180 to confirm you have found your stable. Each stable will be
 given a number, which will be on the www.midarc.co.uk a week before the championships, and
                              displayed in the stable managers area

Stable cost - £ 60 + £10 deposit. All deposits are returnable on the day, after the stable has
been emptied and inspected by the yard manager. Please highlight on the form if you will
need the stable emptied as this request will not be optional on the day of the championships.

RULES
Damage caused to stables will be charged to the hirer. MIDARC UK are not responsible for, and do
not except liability for any injury sustained, or damage to or loss of any property whilst on the show
ground.

Stable Refunds are all subject to MIDARC rule 26: Stables cancelled after the 18th August 2011 –
refunds will only be made if we are able to re let the stable to another competitor. Competitors who
subsequently cancel their cheques will be expected to re-imburse MIDARC for the Cheque
Cancellation Fee incurred, which currently stands at £25 plus the Administration Fee of £5.00.

               2011 NATIONAL RIDDEN UTILITY – SECTION B CHAMPIONSHIP

You may enter the Restricted section if you and your horse or pony have NOT achieved a 65%
score more than twice before 1st April 2011 in any Prelim Test. If you have achieved more than two
scores of 65% or more before 1st April 2011, then you MUST enter the Open section.
Horses or Ponies with BD points MUST enter the Open section

Congratulations

You have qualified for the 2011 National Championships, which are being held at Rodbaston
College, situated on the A449 Stafford – Wolverhampton Road, easily reached from Junctions 12 or
13 of the M6 - on the 26th, 27th, 28th, 29th August 2011

The Entry Forms which can be found in the centre of this booklet should be completed and
returned to reach us by Thursday 18th August 2011 together with the relevant Entry Fees –
please remember to use a separate entry form for each rider

You will also be able to view your personal Rider Number and the Classes you have qualified for. If
you think we have put you in the wrong class, please enter yourself in the right one, but, if you do
this, it would help us if you would just make a note on the back of the entry form explaining what you
have done and why.

If we need to clarify anything we will contact you by phone or preferably e-mail.

RIDER NUMBERS

These will be available to be collected from the Secretary on the day along with your prebooked
souvenir programme. However if you would like your rider numbers sooner, then please send a
large Stamped Addressed Envelope ( 220mm x 110mm minimum size) and this will be sent to you
upon receipt of your entries.

COMPETITOR NOTES - Receipt of Entry’s & Entry Fees

As we all know the Royal Mail Service is not totally reliable, and as they have told us, putting a
stamp on an envelope is no guarantee that they will deliver it. So, please, do not assume that we
have received your entry, we recommend that you let us have a large stamped addressed
envelope. This way if you have not received your Championship Number back within 10 working
days, you can safely assume that we have not received it, and we would advise that you contact us
as soon as possible on 01902 896607 (Mon – Fri 10.00am – 5.00pm).

All entries received will also be acknowledged on the web site, please check your rider number to
see if we have ticked the entries received box.

For 2011 we are again offering competitors the opportunity to pay by internet banking or Pay Pal (a
4% surcharge is made for Pay Pal , you will also be safe in the knowledge that we will receive
payment within three working days. Please see further details with the entry form
Car Parking
Car Parking Passes are available to pre purchase, all Lorries and Cars towing trailers are admitted
to the showground free of charge. Parking for Cars must be paid for, buying in advance saves you
money,
Rates are as follows;
Day Parking is £5 per day or if pre paid £3
Season Ticket Parking (to cover Saturday, Sunday, Monday) is £15 or if prepaid £9

If you require specific car parking spaces (ie disabled ringside) please inform us and this will be
arranged, otherwise cars, lorries and cars with trailers will be parked by our stewards on a first
come first served basis

Car Parking for 2011 is being handled by Security personnel, IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU
FOLLOW THEIR INSTRUCTIONS FOR PARKING BECAUSE WE CANNOT OVER-RULE THEM
IF YOU CANNOT PARK EXACTLY WHERE YOU WANT TO

Souvenir Programme
This lovely colour programme makes an excellent souvenir of the event, prebook yours at a
discounted price of £2.50 and collect from the secretary upon arrival

Overnight Stabling – No Bookings taken before 25th June 2011 and stabling is available at
Rodbaston – please ring the office on 01902 896607 – but please not before 25th June 2011.

For 2011 the charges are;

Permanent Stables (as used by the college) are £60 for the 3 days (sorry this is the cost whether
one day or three) there are a limited number of these and are on a first come first served basis

Temporary Stables are £60 for the 3 days (sorry this is the cost whether one day or three) – some
day stabling maybe available, please enquire approx 7 days before the Championships

A deposit of £10 per stable is payable upon booking, and will be refunded if stables are mucked out
on departure

We will supply 2 bales of straw per stable unless otherwise requested not to do so

Stable Booking Requests will close on 18th August 2011

Please note Horses and / or Ponies will not be allowed to be corralled on the ground. Stables must
be booked if you are staying over.

Please note, we are not told until approx 10 days before the event as to where the temporary
stables will be erected, if as in 2010, lorry and trailer parking is restricted, then we will allow
unloading to take place in the stable area, and then you will be directed to a suitable parking/
camping area
Saturday & Sunday Night Entertainment in the Bar and Shearwater Arena – Everyone
welcome – starts at approx 6.30pm, a disco etc follows after the close of the evening
performances on Saturday & Sunday

Clashes of Classes

Please remember that when entering, the responsibility for avoiding clashes of classes is that of the
competitor.

Please read the schedule carefully, where we have indicated approximate times for the start of
these classes, these have been based on entries received in previous years. However, times may
change either before or on the day and the organisers will not be held responsible for any classes
missed. Please check our web site at www.midarc.co.uk, as we will post any changes here, and will
be finally updated approximately 5 days before the Championships

Judges and Ring Stewards will not allow any competitors to enter the ring or leave the ring
once a Class has commenced being judged, so please do not ask as we do not wish to
offend.

Refunds

There will be no refunds for missed classes, please see our rules regarding refunds in general

Group Championships

All Group Championship Classes will, if necessary be delayed until all Classes within that group
have been completed.

number back to the secretary when you have finished to collect one

All Competitors will be expected to make a £2.50 per day (max £5) contribution for the provision of
First Aid and a Farrier
