SDSU - Nurses with an AS Degree in Nursing
A Registered Nurse-Bachelor of Science nursing program is available at San Diego State
University (SDSU) for registered nurses with an Associate Degree in nursing. This program gives
credit for previous coursework and is designed with flexible class scheduling and innovative
teaching strategies for the working nurse.
Grossmont College ADN to SDSU BSN Requirements (Prerequisites to
complete while on the Grossmont College RN wait list - before acceptance
into the program.)
1. ENGL 120: College Composition and Reading (ENGL 110 – prerequisite)
2. COMM 122: Public Speaking
3. MATH 160: Elementary Statistics or ANTH 215 or SOC 214 or PSY 215
(MATH 103 or 110 - prerequisite) or BIO 215 (MATH 110 and BIO 120 -
prerequisite)
4. CD 125: Principles of Child Development
or
PSY 150: Developmental Psychology (PSY 120 prerequisite)
5. CHEM 102: Introduction to General, Organic and Biological Chemistry
(Offered at Cuyamaca College - no prerequisite)
or
CHEM 116: Introductory Organic and Biochemistry (MATH 090 and
CHEM 115 -prerequisite)
Recommended (See below): remaining CSU lower division GE.
(After completing the SDSU transfer application, request the Grossmont College
Admissions and Records to “certify” all general education courses.)

to as the “golden four”) required for CSU admission.

Admission Requirements to SDSU BSN Program
A. Admission to SDSU (see above) and completed application to SDSU
Nursing Program
B. Current RN licensure in the state of California
C. Graduation from an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing Program with
a “C” or better in all nursing courses.
D. Overall GPA of 2.5
E. Current CPR Certification.
