This course is designed to provide a basic foundation for the nursing practice of the registered nurse who:
Delegates nursing functions in the DDA setting including medication administration.
Teaches medication administration to the medication technician.
Upon completion of this course, the student should have:
A background of the Developmental Disabilities Administration and the COMAR regulations
involved in responsibilities of the delegating nurse.
An understanding of the Nurse Delegation Law and how it relates to your responsibilities.
An overview of the new Medication Technician Training Program (MTTP).
Topics included in this two-day workshop are:
Overview of regulation relating to responsibilities of an RN Case Manager/Delegating Nurse.
Case Management Principles.
Overview of Medication Technician Training Program (MTTP).
Adult Learning and Communication.
