Peritoneum: development and final organization. Situs viscerum in the
abdominal cavity. Developmental abnormalities of the GIT

Abdominal cavity and its compartments:
  Peritoneal cavity:
  - parietal and visceral peritoneum
  - compartments of the peritoneal cavity (supra- and inframesocolic space, right
     and left mesenterocolic recess)
  - blood supplying of several compartments
  - mesentery, root of mesentery
  - transverse mesocolon and other attachments of the large intestine
  - peritoneal recesses (paraduodenal rr., ileocoecal rr., …..)
  - internal abdominal hernias
  - omental bursa, epiploic foramen
  - greater and lesser omentum


Position of GIT organs, relations with peritoneum (intra-, meso- and secondarilly
retroperitoneal organs), skeletotopic relations

Developmental abnormalities of GIT (Meckel´s diverticulum, situs viscerum inversus,
pancreas annulare
