Scholarship Guidelines
           Applicants must be legal residents of New Mexico and United States Citizens
           Applicants must be enrolled in a degree or certificate program at UNM-Los Alamos
           Applicants who have earned an Associate or Bachelor degree are NOT eligible
           Applicants must provide high school and college transcripts or GED transcript with application
           Only one application is required to be considered for all scholarships listed on the back of this application with the
            exception of the Bridge to Success Scholarship and the UNM Transfer Scholarship (both of these require a
            separate application).

Length of Scholarship
Scholarships are awarded for a maximum of four (4) semesters at UNM-Los Alamos. Application is required each
academic year beginning with the fall semester. Eligibility for scholarships is determined each semester based on the
previous semester performance as stated in the requirements.

Deadline & Notification of Award
FALL Priority will be given to those students applying on or before April 1 for the Fall Semester. Scholarship recipients
will receive an award letter during the month of May. Applications received after this date will only be considered if funds
are still available.
SPRING Priority will be given to those students applying on or before January 10 for the Spring Semester. Awards will
only be made if funds are available after the second week of school.

        Scholarships for UNM-Los Alamos                                         Espanola Woman’s Club Endowment Scholarship
                                                                                Established to assist UNM-Los Alamos students entering college and
FOR FRESHMEN ONLY                                                               pursuing a bachelor’s degree in any area of study. Preference will be given to
                                                                                female students; however, male students are encouraged to apply. Preference
          Scholars Program Scholarship                                          will be given to students having financial need but students who do not meet
                                                                                need requirements are encouraged to apply. The scholarship is for $250.
First-time entering freshmen applicants must meet the following:                Applicants must meet the following criteria:
    3.5 or higher GPA OR                                                          Admitted to UNM-Los Alamos for the semester immediately following
    25 or higher ACT composite score (or SAT equivalent) AND                         high school graduation or GED completion
    Full-time (12 or more credit hours) enrollment                                Be a NM high school graduate (public or accredited private school) or
                                                                                      recipient of a NM GED
This scholarship covers the following expenses: double occupancy housing at
                                                                                   Live within Rio Arriba, Los Alamos or Santa Fe county
the 9th Street Apartments, tuition and fees, and required books. The
                                                                                   High school GPA of 3.0, ACT composite score of 20 or above, and/or
approximate value is $4442 for one year. Should a recipient elect a single
                                                                                      SAT score of 650
occupancy room he/she would be responsible for the difference. [Awarded

          Executive Endowment Scholarship
                                                                                Jim Sagel Memorial Endowment Scholarship
First-time entering freshmen applicants must meet the following:
    3.25 or higher GPA OR                                                      Established in memory of Jim Sagel, a longtime UNM-Los Alamos faculty
    22 or higher ACT composite score (or SAT equivalent) AND                   member, to assist students who plan to earn an associate degree in Liberal
    Full-time (12 or more credit hours) enrollment                             Arts or Southwest Studies. The scholarship provides tuition and required fees

Provides $500 per semester. [Awarded fall semester only.]
                                                                                Julie Langham Grilly Memorial Scholarship

FOR ALL STUDENTS                                                                Established in memory of Julie Langham Grilly, a former Los Alamos
                                                                                community member. Students must be enrolled in Liberal Arts. The
