JOB SUMMARY
The Vice President - Water Resources is responsible for strategic and tactical oversight of developing,
implementing and administering SAWS water supply program. This position oversees the areas of
Water Resources and Water Conservation. This strategic partner will determine and develop and
implement appropriate programs within the defined areas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1.  Oversees the development and implementation of programs and services in the areas of Water
    Resources and Water Conservation.
2.  Designs and executes strategic Water Resource and Conservation projects that will shape the
    future of SAWS.
3.  Leverages the resources (people, information, and capital) to strengthen SAWS position in the
    market.
4.  Develops and nurtures relationships with state, county, regional, city, and business leaders.
5.  Develops and manages operational and capital budgets to implement water resource plans.
6.  Works closely with department heads to help them accomplish their immediate and projected
    team goals throughout the organization on a daily basis.
7.  Supervises, selects, develops, trains, and evaluates personnel.
8.  Trains and mentors employees and facilitates interdepartmental teamwork.
9.  Promotes and encourages teamwork and cooperative efforts internal and external to SAWS
    including outside agencies and the community.
10. Influences events in order to optimize organizational resources and achieve System goals.
11. Recognizes and rewards high performance and respects and promotes diversity.
12. Applies executive level business management principles and practices.
13. Manages the human, physical and financial resources for the Water Resources group.
14. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships and public relations.
15. Performs other duties as assigned.

DECISION MAKING
•   This position works under limited supervision.
•   Oversees a group of 50 - 65 employees.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
   Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Environmental Science or
   related field from an institution accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting agency.
   Fifteen years experience managing and directing water resource and long-range business planning
   programs.
   Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License consistent with SAWS driving policy.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
   Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Environmental Science or
   related field from an institution accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting agency.

JOB DIMENSIONS

   industry peers, and vendors.
   Communicates effectively, verbally and in writing.
   Required to work hours other than regular schedule.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Working conditions are primarily in an office environment with occasional field visits. May drive a
company and/or personal vehicle when performing duties at field locations.
