2008 Annual Report
Spina Bifida
association of western pennsylvania
About SBAWP
The Spina Bifida Association of Western Pennsylvania was formed in 1969 as a parent support group for children born
with Spina Bifida. Today, with a staff of just under 40 people serving over 600 families in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West
Virginia, we are ever vigilant for new opportunities to help those individuals.
Mission Statement
The Spina Bifida Association of Western Pennsylvania is committed to improving the quality of life for people with Spina
Bifida and their families by providing a continuum of support services, education and advocacy.

Initial plans were put in place to develop a play time

will have a major impact within the community when it
launches in the fall of 2009.
