Duties & Responsibilities: The Chief Financial Officer is accountable for serving as the
principal advisor regarding all financial matters, which may affect the short-term or long-
term financial success of the facility. The CFO plays a vital role in the senior
management team and in chairing a finance function team. This highly visible position
requires a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making skills. This
position manages and coordinates the budget development and expenditure control
activities for a major operation of the Department of Labor. The CFO has accountability
for the full range of financial functions including Budgeting, Accounts Receivable,
Managed Care Contracting, Provider Contracting, and Expense Management. The
incumbent is accountable for planning, developing, implementing, and administering
financial control, analysis, operating systems, and internal controls, assuring the facility
is in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and existing federal and
state rules and regulations. We are seeking a strategic CFO who has experience in a
multi-faceted system of similar size and scale to Roosevelt Warm Springs. This should
include a track record of provision and excellent analytic skills supporting an efficient
and effective operation.
Entry Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in public administration, business
administration, accounting, finance or a related field AND four years of experience in
general management, accounting, or budgeting OR Eight years of experience in general
management, accounting, management analysis or budgeting
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred qualifications include one or more of the following (1) M.B.A. or equivalent
degree in Accounting or Finance, (2) Current Certified Public Accountant's license with
the State Board of Accountancy, (3) Three years professional experience in hospital
finance administration as a hospital controller or CFO in a healthcare facility OR Five
years professional experience in hospital financial management, statistical analysis,
accounting, auditing, or related field, (4) Three years in state budgeting and accounting,
(5) More than five years in hospital financial administration, (6) experience with
healthcare reimbursement, hospital billing, and collections, (7) experience in a State-
owned hospital and/or vocational operation, and/or (8) knowledge of reimbursement
mechanisms, generally accepted accounting practices, and general health care operations.
