To meet this need, MPI is hosting the first-ever Asian
Meetings and Events Conference which will be held
in Singapore on October 24-25, 2008. With a theme
of "Move Forward," the spirit of conference is the
advancement of professionals, the MPI Community,
and the meetings industry within the Asian region to
build opportunities for mutual success.

Michael Tay, director of operations for Asia-Pacific,
enthuses, "We've assembled a solid slate of
educational and networking opportunities which will be
valuable not only to local meeting professionals, but
also for international planners with an interest in the
Asian region. We want to let our international meeting
professionals to get an insider's look at the Asian
region and realize how rich connections to this
powerful marketplace really are."

With a heavy emphasis on cultural understanding, the
slate of knowledge sessions planned for the

CMM Program Accepting Applications
The Certification in Meetings Management (CMM)
program is now accepting applications for the next
class of rising meeting professionals, set to take place
this October. To learn about criteria for admission or

Call for Topics and Proposals
In order to better engage the MPI community, MPI has
revised its content generation strategy for live
conference education content. For each live event,
MPI will open a Call for Topics and a Call for
Proposals. A current list of all open calls is available

Conference, the Singapore Exhibition and Convention
Bureau (SECB), a division of the Singapore Tourism
Board, would like to offer an exclusive Uniquely
