SCOPE AND CONTENTS OF THE RECORDS
Civil and criminal case files, numbers 1-7422 (1888-1956), filed as an integrated set;
include torrens case files and coroner’s inquest files. Also an auxiliary set of numerical case
files, including coroner’s inquests, case file transcripts, depositions, exhibits, and related records
that, due to legal paper size, did not physically interfile into the main set of civil and criminal
case files, and a small set of unnumbered case files (1909-1981).
Note to researcher: Materials in the auxiliary set of numerical case files may or may not
also have files in the main set. Researchers should check both sets of files to insure they’ve
found all materials relating to a given case file.
ARRANGEMENT OF THE RECORDS
Arranged in three sections: the main set, filed numerically (also roughly chronologically) by
case file number; an auxiliary set, also filed numerically by case file number; and a
chronological set of unnumbered case files.
