Holocaust Interactive Map Guide
Getting Started:
- Go to the United States Holocaust Memorial Musuem website (http://www.ushmm.org/)
- Click on mapping the Holocaust (on left side)
- Underneath the map titled “Holocaust,” click on See Animated Map
- Make the window larger by clicking on the square box in the upper right-hand corner of
the window.
- Click on Start, and then answer the questions in the Holocaust Section below.
- Click Pause anytime you need to stop the motion to write down an answer
Map #1 Holocaust Map:
1) How many Jews were murdered by the Nazi’s during the Holocaust?
2) ______ out of every 3 Jews in Europe had been murdered by May 1945.
3) What was the Prewar Jewish Population in Europe?
4) Which two countries in Europe did most of the Jews live in?
5) What event began World War II? When did it occur?
6) Why did the Nazi’s establish ghettos in the territories they took over?
7) What was the largest extermination camp? How often did Jews arrive there?
