and job accounting. Designed and implemented a web site. Acquired and used a 3D modeling tool for

Business Development and Engagement Support

Software and solution services support for start-up division. Initial tasks included establishment of business

model, sales documentation, alliance arrangements, product channel development and building of prospect

pipeline. Initial projects included assessment of board member effectiveness for software metrics consulting

company and repackaging of SLA monitoring software for re-branding through VAR. Alliances established

National Account Executive

Responsibilities at this IT consulting company (3800 staff, $500mil rev. and ISO 9001 registered) included

coordination of cross-functional teams for support of national accounts; development of marketing and

strategic plans, RFP/RFIs, and project proposals; selling both technical staffing, projects and solutions; and

managing diversity support, subsupplier channels, client reviews and full range of admin support.

 Established and led national sales and marketing programs for both JPMorgan Chase and Verizon

Communications accounts. Achieved 150% increase in sales revenue for 2002 (total $12mil).

 Led initiatives that won national vendor status at JPMorgan Chase and Verizon Communications.

Regional Practice Manager

Responsibilities included research for potential alliance/technology partners, evaluation and development of

partnerships, deal/contract negotiations, development of product support strategies, product enhancements to

provide the AIC value-add, technical staffing, lab development, construction of sales support materials, and

 Established technology partner practices with Critical Path Systems (system performance

The Chase Manhattan Bank, New York, NY FEB 1994 – MAY 1996

Vice President, Technology Planning

Responsibilities included capacity planning, infrastructure design and implementation, vendor selection,

technology acquisition and implementation, standardization, budgeting and cost reduction, data center

consolidations, RFIs/RFPs, negotiation of special vendor deals, and formulation of infrastructure component

of overall IT architecture model. All responsibilities were on global level.

 Primary interface between infrastructure and architecture/business planning groups. Helped steer

technology decisions and development plans based on bank business priorities.

 Designed and implemented a technology planning process for the Global Technology Service

Centers that included technology blueprinting and stay-current implementation plans.

 Integrated a balanced approach of cost reduction and service improvement themes within the bank

including business units Chase AutoFinance and Retail Bank resulting in $2mil+ cost savings.

 Developed process model for introduction of new technologies from incubation through deployment.

 Led infrastructure integration team for merger of Chase and Chemical Credit Card processing.



ObjectSoft Corporation, Englewood, NJ JAN 1993 – JAN 1994

Senior Vice President

Responsibilities at leading edge software company that specialized in client/server solutions using object

oriented technologies included selling and managing engagements, design of technical architectures

including the selection of tools for development, beta testing early product releases from Microsoft,

development of sales and marketing plans, specifications for new vertical application markets, and design of

seminars, user groups and technical courses.

 Led innovative technical project that designed an internet-based infrastructure for major non-profit.

 Pioneered integration of MS Project and SQL Server for workgroup computing team at major

pharmaceutical company.



Prudential Insurance Company, Valhalla, NY SEP 1989 – SEP 1992

ISE and Senior VP of Systems (Business Unit CIO) - Relocation Mgmt Division

Full IT responsibilities for business unit. Challenges included redesign and management of IT organization

aimed at newly acquired relocation company. Led integration with newly merged retail real estate company,

designed and deployed next generation technology, migrated to new services center, and outsourced service

delivery components. Member of the Prudential ISE (Information Systems Executive) IT corporate council.

 Architected multi-year down-sizing plan that reduced annual IT expenses by 20%. Outsourced local

mainframe data center workload and redesigned applications portfolio architecture to operate within

distributed computing model.

 Led a major renovation of branch support systems that included rollout of workstations and

integrated access to richer suite of application functions and dramatically improved business

products and services. Created innovative on-site client operation centers for remote transaction

processing.

 Initiated systems planning approach for guiding IT investments using the Nolan & Norton strategic

planning model, introduced the Joint Application Design methodology (JAD) for re-engineering of

significant business systems, and led TQM initiative for IT.



Merrill Lynch Realty & Mortgage, Division of Merrill Lynch, Stamford, CT MAY 1985 – SEP 1989

Senior VP of Systems (business unit CIO)

Full IT responsibilities for business unit. Challenges included organization design and development of IT

organization to support all aspects of realty services including mortgage banking, retail real estate and

employee relocation services. Developed IT strategic plan to support distributed business model.

 Formulated an information systems plan and led technology implementation for national chain of

retail real estate companies, ML Realty Associates (500+ locations and 18,000 sales agents), and

implemented a distributed communications network and computer system architecture to support

MLS sales, accounting and finance, and integration with the Merrill Lynch G/L.

 Formulated an information systems plan and led technology implementation for nation-wide home

mortgage business, ML Mortgage Banking Co. Implemented centralized computer system (CICS-

based on-line transaction processing & SNA/X.25 communications network) to support remote loan

origination with PC-based branch access, lending risk management, pipeline processing, and

distributed loan servicing.

 Phased out all mortgage related systems when the ML Mortgage Banking Company was closed

during a severe business downturn in 1987. Dismantled the network, computer hardware, and

software; retained key databases for legal requirements; and, re-deployed assets and staff.

 Led renovation of aging, multi-platform computer system that supported the relocation business, and

managed migration to more advanced on-line transaction processing system using a network design

model.

Merrill Lynch & Co., New York, NY FEB 1970 – MAY 1985

VP, Brokerage Division (various positions)

Responsibilities included systems programming, data center support, disaster recovery and contingency

planning, infrastructure design and capacity planning, and applications development.

 Led technical team that performed major technology infrastructure relocation on Wall Street that led

to first showcase data center in lower Manhattan.

 Developed strategic/tactical plans for data centers. Performed capacity management services for the

main corporate data center and distributed mid-sized mainframe data centers. Provided technical

support for all applications development groups.

 Coordinated asset inventory and expense budgeting and reduced annual hardware/software expenses

by $5mil (25% reduction).

 Introduced the Nolan & Norton methodologies and developed company’s first formal

problem/change management system, first equipment acquisition process, and first PC support

program. Also initiated the first support program for distributed computers, including planning,

acquisition, installation, and technical support.

 Managed applications development for marketing and securities research divisions, including

brokerage pricing actions, customer segmentation analysis, innovative fixed income research tool,

and new product support. Installed internal timesharing system as offload for commercial usage.

 Implemented company’s first in-house online historical securities pricing database and significantly

enhanced the company's first executive information system, EIS.
