Full IT responsibilities for business unit. Challenges included redesign and management of IT organization
aimed at newly acquired relocation company. Led integration with newly merged retail real estate company,
designed and deployed next generation technology, migrated to new services center, and outsourced service
delivery components. Member of the Prudential ISE (Information Systems Executive) IT corporate council.
Architected multi-year down-sizing plan that reduced annual IT expenses by 20%. Outsourced local
mainframe data center workload and redesigned applications portfolio architecture to operate within
distributed computing model.
Led a major renovation of branch support systems that included rollout of workstations and
integrated access to richer suite of application functions and dramatically improved business
products and services. Created innovative on-site client operation centers for remote transaction
processing.

Formulated an information systems plan and led technology implementation for national chain of
retail real estate companies, ML Realty Associates (500+ locations and 18,000 sales agents), and
implemented a distributed communications network and computer system architecture to support
MLS sales, accounting and finance, and integration with the Merrill Lynch G/L.
Formulated an information systems plan and led technology implementation for nation-wide home
mortgage business, ML Mortgage Banking Co. Implemented centralized computer system (CICS-
based on-line transaction processing & SNA/X.25 communications network) to support remote loan
origination with PC-based branch access, lending risk management, pipeline processing, and
distributed loan servicing.
Phased out all mortgage related systems when the ML Mortgage Banking Company was closed
during a severe business downturn in 1987. Dismantled the network, computer hardware, and
software; retained key databases for legal requirements; and, re-deployed assets and staff.
Led renovation of aging, multi-platform computer system that supported the relocation business, and
managed migration to more advanced on-line transaction processing system using a network design
model.

Coordinated asset inventory and expense budgeting and reduced annual hardware/software expenses

Introduced the Nolan & Norton methodologies and developed company’s first formal
problem/change management system, first equipment acquisition process, and first PC support
program. Also initiated the first support program for distributed computers, including planning,
