Juneteenth is a day or series of days that marks the time when a large group of slaves in Texas finally found out they had been freed by Abraham Lincoln's emancipation proclamation.
The bittersweet part of Juneteenth is that the slaves were told almost two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was delivered by Abraham Lincoln. Despite its somewhat unfortunate circumstances, Juneteenth celebrates the freedom those slaves enjoyed even though it came two years late.

This is father's day, a celebration of unappreciated and under appreciated fathers everywhere.
It seems like since the dawn of time, mothers have always gotten all the love and adoration. Professional athletes always say hi to mom when the camera's on them, motorcycle gangs have the 'I Heart Mom' tattoos and Mother's Day is probably the biggest holiday of the year.
But never feat dads, Docstoc has your back. We've put together this collection to serve as a token of our appreciation to all the dads out there. Not only that, but we're dubbing the whole weekend for Father's Day, so you dads out there can enjoy it even more.
This collection is full of homages to dad and ideas for gifts, celebrations and aggrandizement for Fathers Day. Enjoy.

Today marks the unofficial beginning of Gay and Lesbian Pride Month as determined by former President Bill Clinton. On this day in the year 2000, President Clinton declared June “Gay and Lesbian Pride Month.”
Gay and Lesbian Pride Month is celebrated each year for the month of June and has since been expanded to include individuals who identify themselves as bisexual and transgender.
In addition to GLBT month, the last Sunday in June is celebrated as GLBT Pride Day. The month was chosen to remember a riot in 1969 at the Stonewall Inn in Manhattan that some consider the beginning of the gay pride and equality movement in the United States. The month is intended to recognize the impact gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals have had on the world.
Gay and lesbian groups celebrate this month with the world-renowned gay pride parade along with picnics, parties and memorials for those lost from hate crimes as well as HIV and AIDS. Other group gathering events held in cities like San Francisco, Los Angeles and Seattle attract thousands upon thousands of people each year.
