US Patent 6200025 A system and method for maintaining a network of multiple radiation devices, such as linear accelerator radiation therapy devices. Automated specification testing and checking of the network of radiation therapy devices facilitates integrated analysis of collected information and system calibration. A network interface is provided for coupling the radiation devices to the network through dedicated personal computers (PCs). Databases of device history records and device specifications are maintained on a system calibration server for each of the multiple radiation devices. Dosimetry scanners operable with the radiation devices use a dedicated PC as a client user interface in communication with the server via the network and one radiation device. The radiation devices are responsive to the client user interface for undergoing an operation sequence with dosimetry scanner performing a series of tests. The radiation device is thus operated automatically via the PC client user interface in accordance with the series of tests performed by the dosimetry scanner. The dedicated PCs and any additional PCs on the network have read-only access to server database information.

Specifically, temperature determinations made in accordance with the present invention are generally for calibrating other temperature sensing devices that may be used in conjunction with the thermal processing chamber. The method of the present invention is generally directed to heating a substrate containing a reactive coating within a thermal processing chamber in an oxidizing atmosphere or reducing atmosphere. As the wafer is heated, the reactive coating reacts with gases contained within the chamber based upon the temperature to which the substrate is exposed. After heated, the thickness of any coating that is formed on the substrate is then measured for determining the temperature to which the substrate was heated. This information can then be used to calibrate other temperature sensing devices, such as thermocouples and pyrometers.

There is a discharge device from each of the compartments of the hopper which extend outwardly into the feed channels to receive fodder from one compartment and another consumable material from the other compartment which are mixed together by mixing devices extending outwardly into the feed channels behind the discharge devices. The mixing device is powered by a power take-off shaft from the tractor and rotates to mix the fodder and other consumable material together. The rotation may be about vertical axes or horizontal axes, the latter extending either in the direction of travel of the tractor or transverse thereto. The mixing devices may be guided by a rail disposed along an edge of the mixing channel. The tractor may contain a radiographic device for opening and closing doors to the building in which the stalls and feed channels are installed.

Operation of the device is "hands-free" due to the fact that it illuminates automatically and does not require the operator to actively position the light relative to the path of the watercraft since the watercraft travels in the direction that the outboard motor is pointed when the motor is operated in the reverse mode. The electric circuit may also employ a switching device to maintain the electric lamp in an illuminated state for a predetermined time to permit the watercraft operator to momentarily operate the outboard motor in the neutral or forward modes while maintaining rearward illumination.

The Gower’s report (published in December 2006) makes fifty-four recommendations across the spectrum of IP. It tasks the Patent Office with far-reaching activities to ensure that the value of IP is maximised to enable the UK to compete in the global economy. It models a new UK Intellectual Property Office from the present Patent Office. This is not out of the blue: it represents a crystallisation of strategic thinking on IP by the government. In 2005 the Minister of Science and Technology, Lord Sainsbury said we would become a “different kind of Patent Office –a Patent Office for the 21st Century”.
